Join a dynamic team at the forefront of the industry, ensuring the successful delivery of high-profile projects. Our client, a leading organization within the Energy sector is seeking a dedicated Commercial Manager to contribute to the achievement of the HPC New Build Project’s objectives.
This is an interim role until the end of year with a chance of extension.
The Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role within the Client Commercial Team, overseeing the assurance, compliance, and delivery of professional services contracts vital to the HPC New Build Project. With accountability for contracts totaling approximately £75 million per annum, the successful candidate will ensure the effective management and administration of commercial issues across assigned contracts.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage pre and post-contract commercial issues, including assessment of scope, duration, and value.
- Provide support to senior management, including defining commercial requirements
- Leading a Commercial team of up to 3 staff.
- Oversee day-to-day management of support staff and procurement processes.
- Maximize operational and financial performance while minimizing commercial risk.
- Ensure compliance with governance requirements and administrative procedures.
- Facilitate professional development initiatives within the team.
Nature and Scope of Work:
The Commercial Manager will serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned contracts, fostering proactive collaboration across project stakeholders to ensure successful contract delivery and project outcomes.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Membership in RICS/CICES/IOB or equivalent professional body preferred.
- Strong commercial/contract management skills with knowledge of best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions on matters of financial significance.
- Educated to degree level, with expertise in contract performance measurement, risk management, and change management.
- Proficiency in NEC & FIDIC contracts within the power construction industry.
- Familiarity with UK Law and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing professional services contracts or large-scale equipment/material contracts.
- Proven ability to build relationships across the supply chain.
- Familiarity with SAP, CEMAR, or fieldglass systems preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in the nuclear or construction sectors desirable but not essential.
The role offers Hybrid working of at least 2 days a week in the office. Canddiates can work out of their Gloucester, Bridgwater or Bristol Office.
