Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the finance team in various areas including tax, carbon footprint reporting, foreign currency monitoring, financial analysis of suppliers, and processing of expenses and journals. Your role will also involve assisting with audits and statutory reporting requirements. Additionally, you will be involved in assessing the impact of changes in Accounting Standards and identifying opportunities for efficient operations.

This role offers the opportunity for growth and progression into other aspects of finance such as treasury, advanced tax matters, and change management.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities:

  • Qualified, studier/part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Good understanding of tax regulations, including corporation tax, VAT, and tax-sensitive expenses.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet multiple deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly accurate and analytical.
  • Proactive in seeking opportunities to improve processes and knowledge.
  • Respectful of confidentiality.
  • Open-minded and motivated by challenge.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Axe is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with implementing new ERP systems is desirable.
  • Team player who values and respects the skills of their colleagues.
  • Capable of working independently and taking initiative to improve efficiency and financial performance.
  • Willing to multitask and maintain good communication while meeting deadlines.
  • Eager to conduct independent research and provide updates on changes in corporate reporting, tax, and accounting requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure all deadlines are met, including month-end and year-end.
  • Meet all statutory obligations within the required time frame.
  • Provide cover for day-to-day finance activities when colleagues are on leave.
