Commissioning Engineer - Hinkley 'C' Nuclear Project

Role: Commissioning Engineer - Balance of Nuclear Island - Hinkley 'C' Nuclear Power Station project Location: Bristol, close to M4/M5 junction Salary: Up to £58000/year + good benefits including 10% client pension Start: April 2021 onwards Commissioning Engineer with experience of commissioning on large construction projects required to work in support of EDF's Hinkley 'C' nuclear new build project. Candidates should ideally have prior commissioning test experience on a nuclear site, or commissioning procedure elaboration, though this is not essential to being considered. Commissioning experience on an EPR project I&C test bay (or writing of associated procedures) would be highly advantageous. The role will be based at the client's head office in Bristol close to the M4/M5 motorway junction. The commissioning group is responsible for writing of a part of the commissioning documentation to be delivered by the client for the HPC project. Under the responsibility of the discipline Lead, the Commissioning Engineer will thus be entrusted with the production and/or surveillance of a set of deliverables. As far as practicable, it will be striven to assign to a given team member the entire documentation related a system in a bid to increase his/her deep understanding of the system functions or operating modes Following items make up the scope of deliverables: Plat-form Test Procedure (PTP) and its related study file aiming at validating I&C functions at test bay for the operational control system (SPPA-T2000 S7) Sufficiency Analysis Note (SAN) and its related study file demonstrating the proper test coverage of the safety functions assigned to a system System Commissioning Programme (SCP) and its related study file Commissioning Procedures (CP) and its related study file On top of those deliverables, testing Standard Guidelines (SG) will have to be drafted for both electrical and HVAC disciplines, as a basis for the production of downstream test documents. Such activities are based on design documentation, client's engineering methods, standards and processes as well as commissioning documentation and feedback from other EPRs Key Experience A significant engineering experience in the power generation or process industries with heavy regulatory constraints is required. This must include the drafting of mechanical and monitoring equipment testing guidelines and procedures / instructions. I&C logic diagrams reading and understanding are required A knowledge of the British codes & standards applicable to those systems is required as wel A first commissioning experience is a plus (commissioning test experience on a nuclear site, or commissioning procedure elaboration). A commissioning experience on an EPR project I&C test bay (or writing of associated procedures) is also appreciated Key Skills Ability to propose fit-for-purpose technical solutions in his / her area of expertise Capability of coordinating technical topics which may involve several engineering disciplines (mechanical/HVAC, electrical, I&C) and suppliers Good writing skills with a focus on the drafting of test procedures and test coverage substantiation files Rigour in the production and review of deliverables This is a long-term role (4-5+ years on HPC, plus the opportunity of work on further UK nuclear projects, including Sizewell 'C') offering excellent future career and salary development opportunities. Role: Civil / Structural Engineers - Large Concrete Structures - UK Nuclear New Build Location: North-West Bristol, close to M4/M5 junction or at Hinkley 'C' site near Bridgwater, Somerset Salary: Up to £48500 + good benefits including 10% client pension and private healthcare.
