Responsible for working with clients within the Insurance Sector Key Skills Required: - Good knowledge of insurance schedule of rates contracts Experience within a similar role is preferable, ideally within the property insurance claims industry Excellent communication skills Sound knowledge of building technology and the building industry Proven management skills Knowledge and experience of all insurance related perils such as fire, flood, escape of water and storm etc… Health and Safety knowledge relevant to the construction industry Construction estimating experience would be an advantage Confident IT skills including MS Word and Excel Ability to project manage and run several jobs at a time A strong focus on customer service Good time management and organizational skills Clean driving license Qualifications required: - Minimum 5 years surveying / project management experience Degree in Building Surveying or alternatively HNC / HND in Building Studies (or equivalent) Suitable Health and Safety Qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH etc…) Appropriate CSCS Card desirable The role will include: - Attending policyholder's properties that have been damaged as a result of an insurance claim Surveying and assessing the cause of damage and producing reports for client review Managing jobs up to £100K Creating schedules of work for insurer approval and in accordance with insurance principles Liaising directly with Loss Adjusters, Claims Handlers, Clients and Policyholders Working with and managing a sub-contractor supply chain throughout each project through to customer satisfaction Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients

Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor for a long-term contract role based at St Fergus Gas Plant, Peterhead. Working alongside and on behalf of National Grid Gas, managing the commercial/cost aspects of the asset health main works contractors, their associated supply chains and the designers. Candidates should have Gas (Ideally National Grid) Infrastructure experience (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil works) There would be an opportunity to work some of the time from your home base.

Location: Southwark Duration: 6 months Pay rate: £150/day - £200/day Working Hours: 8am - 5pm Mon - Fri Reporting to the Account Manager and Project Manager, take ownership of general office internal and external minor works including: Office Moves and Rearrangements Small fabric works and layout alterations Grounds Maintenance Support to PM on larger projects. And required to: Attend client meetings for taking requirement, hold contractor meetings, develop scope and present quotes for approval. Once approved, the responsibility per project is to plan, manage contractors on site along with onsite Health & Safety procedures, monitor and report all stages of the works through to completion aimed at quality and compliance across all disciplines. This position will suit someone with the ability to communicate clearly between client, contractor and FM management teams. Be able to understand basic requirements of office fitouts and some understanding of operating under a contract. Experience in working alongside Maintenance and FM teams and advantage Qualifications in typical H&S management such as IOSH required. Fabric work experience needed Knowledge of CAD preferable but not essential. Support of Project Supervisor to the Project Manager required for immediate start and for a duration of six months.
