System Engineer - Requirements

Purpose of role:Our Client has a vacancy for Requirements and Human Factors Engineer to join their SI team, based in offices in New Malden, Surrey or in Broad Oak. The role is primarily a requirements role but there are some HF aspects to it as well.The Successful Candidate will be working on the Shared Infrastructure (SI) Systems requirements and HF for various RN surface ship platforms. To support creation, review and amendment of product requirements and maintenance of the associated DOORS database. Deliverables:Agreed requirementsReports and SpecificationsPresentation materialRequirement and Acceptance database Tasks and Activities:Conduct requirements analysisSupport the production of new requirement statementsManage requirements in the DOORS databaseImproving the SI DOORS requirements set through the investigation & implementation of OR's.Generation of customer documents from DOORS to support contract reviews & test events.Reviewing and implementing improvements to the requirements and acceptance management process.Running customer reviews of the SI Human Factors, capturing their recommendations, ensuring they are tracked and implemented by sub-system teams.Coordinating the acceptance of SI HF requirements through formal test events. Structural Designer - Production Output

Main PurposeStructural Designer (Production Outputs) will be part of the team responsible for the creation of CAD Production Outputs along with other design deliverables to the required standards. They are required to contribute to, as well as, supporting the appropriate areas of the product design cycle including installation technical support.The role requires a good understanding of engineering and design practices as relevant to the discipline and the holder must be able to demonstrate excellent CAD skills as well as good written and verbal communications. Key Result AreasPrimary responsibilities will be preparing & producing 2D structural marine drawing deliverables (primary/secondary/outfit) to required standards & within budget/schedule (create drawings, bill of materials, incorporating change, up-revision of drawings)Ability to utilise 3D models to generate 2D Production Output deliverables.Ability to utilise 3D models to generate additional deliverables (BoM/CADCAM data)Utilising appropriate technical standards and regulations to support development within the appropriate area of the Design Lifecycle (specifically PO's)Perform self-verification of own workAbility to identify errors and omissions that conflict with require specifications within source model and deliverablesFamiliarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practicesLiaise with colleagues and various stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of designProvide solutions to manufacturing and installation issues by assisting in the resolution of Technical and Production QueriesReporting of technical progress and issues to line managementBe aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implementedAssist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs Knowledge, Experience and SkillExperience working on Naval or Commercial Marine shipbuilding projects (Preferably UK naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages)The post holder is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification in Structural/Outfitting discipline subjectApprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experienceBe proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD systems in a 2D environment, but a minimum awareness of working within a 3D model.Preference to be with Hexagon S3D

Main PurposeThe successful Candidate will be part of the team responsible for providing various Engineering Support to Build packages, working alongside Professional and Production Engineering colleagues.The role requires; a good understanding of engineering and design practices as relevant to the discipline and the holder must be able to demonstrate excellent 2D & 3D CAD skills as well as good written and verbal communications. Key Result AreasPrimary responsibilities will be working in an engineering support to build role with the preparation/production of plans, fabrication/installation drawings and information in line with recognised ISO and industry standards and to the required time, cost and quality requirements.For example:Jigs/cradles.Bracing/reinforcement during fabrication.Weldmaps/BoM.Assist in producing Lifting & Turning drawings to Engineering specifications.Transportation - Cometto/SPMT and articulated vehicle swept path analysis for complex loads in low clearance environments. Ability to utilise 3D models to generate deliverables.Liaise with professional engineering colleagues and various stakeholders during design lifecycle to ensure coordination and functionality of design, including contribution to design reviews.Develop innovative design solutions.Perform self-verification of own work.Provide solutions to manufacturing and installation issues by assisting in the resolution of Technical and Production Queries.Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented.Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs. Fibre Service Delivery Engineer

Fibre Service Delivery Engineer Hale Our Client are an innovative telecommunication company who are at the forefront of technology. As part of their growth, they're looking for an Engineer to coordinate the successful completion of new site (MDU) fibre installations. With funding already secured, this is an excellent time to join them, especially if you're looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to move in a leadership role. Main responsibilities * Manage a number of suppliers and contractors in the cabling and installation of FTTP capability to MDU's. * Monitor, verify, validate and sign off the various stages of delivery ensuring deadlines are met and internal operations/support teams are kept up to date on delivery against the plan. * Driving remedial actions where required. * Installing central kit to the comms room. * Manage any resource conflicts and prioritise activities and sites to maximise the business opportunity. * Ensuring the finished build is of the highest standard before handing over to our connections team. * Promoting safe working practices and making sure Health and Safety policy is always at the forefront of everything we do. * To implement and monitor metrics/KPI's and reporting across our outsourced partners and suppliers to ensure maximum cost efficiency and delivery performance. * Engage fully with other teams across the business that impact the delivery life cycle. * As required to support operations, troubleshooting fault finding and fixing. Person Specification * Must have at least 5 years Telecoms/ISP/cabling experience in a similar role. * Must have and be able to demonstrate intimate knowledge of FTTP, internal and external fibre build, civils and service provider circuit delivery. * Knowledge of street works and an understanding of the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991(NRSWA). * Demonstrate the ability to talk the 'same language' as civils and cabling contractors. * Working knowledge in splicing, testing and fault finding on fibre optic networks. * Experience of new development MDU/SDU installations.
