Recruiting for a Fabricator Welder to work for one of our Rail Rolling Stock client's based in Hamilton, Scotland. Ideally candidates will have experience working within the Rail Industry. Contract will initially run for 3 months with opportunities for extension.

Interim Head of Rail Service Outputs

Our client is looking for an Interim Head of Rail Service Outputs initially for 6 months. Rate in negotiable depending upon experience. Role falls inside IR35 and is usually based in our Leeds office, but will be remote working at this time. Not only will you be a guiding voice in shaping strategy, you will manage the programme, collaborate with partners, be responsive to Covid-19 impacts and solutions, holding partners and industry to high standards and minimising risks. You will twin strategic leadership with strong project management experience, alongside the confidence to communicate with a diverse and complex stakeholder community. You will become a trusted external voice and build your professional relationship with key stakeholder partners. This successful candidate requires not only extensive knowledge of the rail industry and rail performance, specifications, and evolving strategies, but a passion to drive economic growth through enhancing rail services. You will be adept at managing projects, have a good understanding of the regional and national policy context and have political acumen. Your ability to turn technical information into coherent briefings and proposals will help support the client's vision. Purpose of the Role Lead our client's operational rail service, delivering complex, pertinent rail data and analysis solutions to senior colleagues and lead input into current rail operations including monitoring delivery, specifying changes and overseeing timetable and train service development. The role is to ensure it contributes to the vison of the our Strategic Rail team, play an important role in shaping the future of rail services and lead the client input into current service operations including delivery, performance, overseeing input to timetable development and train services across the North of England. The Interim Head of Rail Service Outputs will be a collaborative leader; who will have direct oversight of the organisation's input to current and future rail services and the help ensure that they meet the needs of the North in line with the Long-Term Rail Strategy. Qualifications, knowledge and skills required Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience. Professional qualification, chartered status or equivalent experience. Skills and experience Substantial and successful senior management experience in transport (rail) demand modelling, forecasting and analysis. Strong knowledge of transport (rail) planning process. Substantial experience of transport policy and business case development, particularly value for money assessments covering economic, social and environmental impacts. Proven track record of senior management and service planning in a transport/public policy/technical modelling environment. Ability to interpret complex data from diverse sources and identify key strategic themes/develop solutions. Extensive track record of delivering very large and complex projects, including experience of programme management and delivering work across organisational borders. Demonstrated effectiveness in managing complex working relationships with external stakeholders (such as agency partners) including at a national executive level. Demonstrated effectiveness in managing working relationships with internal stakeholders at board level.

Job Purpose: To provide professional health and safety advice and support to Route Services business areas, worksites and functional sites of work to facilitate compliance with legislation. Key Accountabilities: To provide advice and guidance to staff regarding health, safety, environment and assurance matters. To manage and evaluate documentation requirements for health, safety and environment to RS business teams in compliance with the Health, Safety and Environment Management system and legal requirements. To carry out risk based inspections of the function's worksites and locations. To support Line Management in compliance with the Company Accident & Investigation process and assist where required in the collation of evidence. To support Line Management in undertaking risk assessments and health, safety and environment monitoring activities. To support the delivery of the functional audit plan. To provide support to the functional SHE and performance teams in the collation of workforce health, safety and environment data within the corporate management systems processes. To manage the assessment and development of the health, safety and environment aspects of supplier contract documentation where relevant. Evaluate information held in health, safety and environment documentation produced by functional suppliers and provide advice on its applicability and effectiveness. Provide a project management service for health, safety and environment opex work in accordance with company standards and guidelines. Provide safety support to identified meetings on SHE matters with contracting organisations to share and promulgate best practice and lessons learnt. Experience Required: Essential Knowledge of health, safety environment management system and compliance management processes National Examinations Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Understanding of British environmental legal requirements Understanding of British Health and Safety legal requirements Knowledge and experience of railway operations and relevant standards Good risk assessment skills / knowledge Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Logical thinker Internal auditor qualification Accident Investigator trained Experience in Sypol- COSHH management system from Alcumus. They will be delivering a piece of work, updating and reviewing COSHH system. Need to have knowledge of COSHH.

A new opportunity is now available for a HR Assistant to join an Aerospace and Defence company based in Luton The Role: Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor, this role will be a key point of contact for both Managers and employees and will be responsible for the provision of effective HR support to the HR Team. Duties and Responsibilities: - Processing of new starter, changes and leaver paperwork - Issuing letters and updating HR systems - Recruitment administration - Liaising with agencies, arranging interviews and issuing contracts - Manage the onboarding of new permanent and contractor employees, including inductions, references and Right to Work checks - Recording sickness and absence data, processing Return to Work information - Managing internal HR databases - SAP Success Factors - Inputting, collating and reporting of HR data - Supporting apprentice and young talent schemes including local schools network - Conducting exit interviews and leaver documentation - Coordinate arrangements for meetings and training, whilst maintaining employee and training files - Supporting internal audits and compliance checks - Providing support to Senior HR Advisor and wider HR function - Produce documents e.g. letters, presentations and spreadsheets utilising standard IT packages i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint. - Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications CIPD/websites - Any other reasonable duties - Be compliant with the Company's Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy procedures Experience/Skills: - Previous HR experience is essential - Able to demonstrate initiative, prioritise and organise own work - Ability to communicate effectively at all levels - Good and clear communication skills both written and verbal - Excellent time management - Professional and confidential - Confidence with IT and other computer packages - Ability to work well under pressure - Individual must be trustworthy and reliable - Accuracy and high attention to detail, demonstrable compliance or audit experience would be beneficial - Demonstrable knowledge of GDPR regulations and other HR best practices - Knowledge of apprenticeship schemes and apprenticeship levy would be desirable - Previous experience within an HR and Manufacturing environment would be advantageous Morson is acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
