Role: Project Manager / Contract Manager - Civil Engineering Design Contracts - Hinkley Point 'C' nuclear power station project Location: Bristol. close to the M4/M5 junction Salary: up to £59000 + benefits including 10% client pension contribution Start: March 2021 onwards (due to need to obtain security clearance - client happy to wait for candidates to serve appropriate notice period) An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Management / Contract Management professional with knowledge and/or experience of civil engineering design contracts required to work for a key client responsible for the production of the construction drawings for EDF's Hinkley Point 'C' nuclear power station construction project. The role will be based at the client's UK head office in north-west Bristol close to the M4/M5 junction. The Contract Engineer / Project Manager will be responsible for the management of one or multiple civil engineering design contracts. She/he will be ultimately responsible for all aspects of the contract, from ensuring that the technical specifications are adhered to by the contract holder, to ensuring the contracts runs to the planned schedule, cost and quality. Main Activities She/he will carry out the following main activities: Project management Ensure contract specifications are followed by the contract holder(s) Managing the technical surveillance of contract holder's studies Establish surveillance programme(s) and annual surveillance reports Managing the resolution of contractor technical queries Organise and run weekly and monthly progress meetings Contract/commercial management Develop and improve contracts tools Lead contractual discussions and clarifications Prepare, review and analyse Early Warnings and Compensation Events Review and validate monthly payment applications Prepare and deliver reporting Financial Progress Maintain the risk register of the contract(s) Lead a small team of Contract Managers and Assistant Project Managers Liaison with different entities from the client organisation Audits of the contract holder -Quality and Financial Recording and sharing lessons learnt from everyday activities for the benefit of others on the project Implementation of lessons learnt from previous projects and other contracts Qualifications and Experience Candidates should ideally possess an engineering degree or relevant level of experience Project management qualification and/or experience Contract management qualification and/or experience (preferably NEC3 or similar target price contract) Knowledge of and/or experience of civil engineering design contracts in the nuclear sector or other heavily regulated industry (such as oil & gas, rail,…) This is a long-term role (4-5+ years on HPC, plus the opportunity of work on further UK nuclear projects, including Sizewell 'C') offering excellent future career and salary development opportunities.
