Title: Procurement Services Buyer Location: Northwich Duration: 12-month FTC Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 Job profile Purpose of the role; to provide specialist procurement advice and service to assigned business units, focusing on the business unit's objectives around safety, operations, preventative maintenance and reducing costs of production. Areas, Civil Engineering, Control Electrical, Material Handling, Mechanical, fabrication, pumps, plant hire, temporary hire, engineering spares, access equipment, site infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Being the voice of procurement for your assigned business unit. Actively participate in the business management team, challenging commercial aspects where appropriate. Developing procurement strategies for assigned contracts / suppliers / categories, ensuring that maximum value for money is obtained by the company, together with other key services and goods, at the lowest total cost consistent with prerequisites for safety, quality and time requirements, whilst protecting the company in contract. Maintain supplier performance monitoring, ensuring that performance targets are met, regularly reviewing best practices on assigned commodities & conducting supplier review meetings Maintain in depth knowledge of market, legislation and technical developments for my categories, providing guidance and advice within the organisation to ensure that statutory & commercial obligations are met. Engage at site during key meetings to understand site requirements/nuances/ planned works, provide budget guidance and gaining compliance of selected suppliers on tenders, to deliver on time and within budget, avoiding cost creep. About the role You will be required to safely operate sheet metal working machinery to its maximum potential and achieve production targets, whilst maintaining the quality of manufactured sheet metal duct fittings. Ensure consistent acceptable quality of products and report any defects to the team leader. General housekeeping, ensuring that the machinery and its adjacent area is kept clean and tidy. To ensure safety guards are in place at all times and be aware of, and comply with, all health and safety requirements. When necessary, help with the picking, packing and loading of goods to facilitate output. Maintain production/material records. Involvement in company stock taking as necessary. Willing to learn new skills and undertake training as required Any other duties that the Production Manager may request to ensure the smooth running of the factory. About you Previous Production or Warehouse experience. Or demonstrate aptitude/ability to perform Production and Warehouse duties. Excellent attention to detail coupled with the ability to achieve production/delivery targets. Ability to work in a fast paced repetitive environment. Be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Therefore possessing a good level of written and verbal English. Good communication skills. Ability to work as an effective part of a team.
