As a Supplier Quality Engineer at TKMS ATLAS UK you’ll play a critical role in managing and improving supplier quality. You’ll support the Supply Chain and Engineering teams by ensuring suppliers meet stringent quality standards, conducting audits, managing root cause investigations, and helping drive quality improvements across the supply chain.
Key responsibilities:
• Participate to provide quality input for the development, manufacture, procurement and acceptance activities for both detail and assemblies
• Supplier auditing including both initial and ongoing surveillance
• Supporting Procurement with grow / maintain strategy
• Product FCA/PCA audits
• Management of supplier root cause and corrective action
• Support new product introduction in the supply chain
• Creation of supplier quality requirements and audit schedule based on risk
• Interact with suppliers and design team to assist in resolving design, development, production and acceptance issues
• Supplier relationship management
• Improvement and development activities in the supply chain
• Be willing to travel
Knowledge and Skills:
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or quality engineering role
• Proven track record in supplier quality management or alternatively Engineers wanting to step into a Supplier Quality role
• Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification or ability to gain qualification
• Knowledge of quality standards ISO9001, AS9102 and preferably AS9100
• Understanding of configuration and change management processes
• Understanding of Supplier Quality requirements and contractual flow downs
• Root Cause and Corrective Action practitioner using 8D process or similar
• Ability to demonstrate methodical approach to root cause and corrective action
• Good communications skills both verbal and written
• Experience of special process auditing would be advantageous
Desirable
• Practical experience of supplier audits (system, product and process)
• Understanding and experience of APQP
