Location: Middlesbrough, TS8
Hours: Mon–Thurs 8am–5pm, Fri 8am–2pm (40 hours/week)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the smooth running of a busy manufacturing facility based in Middlesbrough. This hands-on that requires proficiency in both electrical and mechanical maintenance. Ensuring the efficient operation of equipment by performing preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, as well as responding to machine breakdowns. The role requires a proactive individual who will offer suggestions for improvement, often with a focus on preventing breakdowns and maximising productivity. Sourcing and maintaining a stock of spare parts for repairs/maintenance and scheduling external specialists when required. This role will also provide basic building maintenance albeit carrying out repairs or sourcing external contractors as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting preventative and reactive maintenance on a variety of production machinery.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Suggesting and implementing improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Managing and maintaining a stock of spare parts and consumables.
• Coordinating with external contractors when specialist services are required.
• Supporting basic building maintenance and repairs when necessary.
What We’re Looking For:
• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in engineering.
• At least 5 years’ experience working with manufacturing equipment, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach with a strong focus on safety.
• Basic plumbing or general handyman experience is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
• Must live within a commutable distance of TS8 0TQ.
