Management Accountant

Management Accountant | Perm | £86,032 to ££95,591 per annum | Capenhurst, Cheshire | Flexible hybrid working

And right now, we’re looking for a Management Accountant. Based at our Capenhurst you’ll be responsible for delivering the management reporting obligations of Urenco Capenhurst entities (inclusive of; UUK, UCP and UNS), interpret and present data to senior stakeholders across the business, and to be solely accountable to seek out information and additional data, whilst ensuring and maintaining accuracy in line with statutory compliance. 

What will your day look like?
 

  • Ensure and maintain accuracy of management data, held at Business Unit level. Complete all recharging across the Business Units, utilising SAP systems as appropriate, to ensure functional and statutory level reporting are accurate and timely.  Liaise with Group Finance and other Urenco entities to ensure alignment.  
  • Solely accountable for the preparation & reporting of intelligent analysis of complex financial data through production of financial dashboards, business performance review analysis and annual budget review testing per entity / business unit. Utilising indirect reports  as necessary to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform value for money tests across Opex & Capex including acting as liaison with Procurement & Group Projects to ensure best value obtained from the supply chain.
  • Solely accountable for the control and delivery of all trend analysis to support business decision making
  • Provide the business with the financial support needed to accurately recharge all costs group wide, including the formation of agreements and formulation of charging mechanisms and key performance statistics.
  • Ensuring adherence to and the development of improvements to the existing financial delegations and local finance controls and liaising with Group Finance and Internal Audit where necessary
  • Accountable for the delivery of the monthly analysis of time booked and production of journals to identify, challenge and reallocate any inaccuracies. 
  • Solely responsible for the management of annual insurance policy requirement for both entities including the preparation of supporting data for Group purposes.
  • Perform all accounting requirements in relation to the Capenhurst Technology Park including stakeholder management of 3rd party contractors.
  • Ad-hoc accounting projects as required

What do you need to be great at this role?

 

  • Qualified Accountant (preferably CIMA)
  • Demonstrable post qualification experience
  • Significant experience of financial analysis
  • Experience of  building and maintaining relationships at all levels
  • Experience of challenging senior stakeholders in reviewing their data, in order to ensure and maintain accuracy and in line with statutory compliance
  • Challenging mentality to drive and deliver accurate solutions
  • Excellent and advanced IT skills required, including but not limited to SAP/BPC, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information with the communication skills required to translate these findings to senior stakeholders in a clear and precise manner
  • Proven analytical and problem solving capability and the drive and onus to seek out additional information when required
  • Current knowledge of IFRS
