Shift Team Lead

Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join the operations department of a CCGT Power Station. The Shift Team Leader will be responsible for directing and managing the shift team effectively to ensure the site meets its operational targets safely and efficiently.

As a Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

• Supervising a team of Control Room Operators ensuring efficient operation the power station
• Ensuring the plant is operating in line with the sites environmental permit
• Managing the safe systems of work as a site SAP for issuing permits and HV switching duties
• Managing shift team resources to ensure effective training and development of operational staff
• Liaising with the maintenance department when required to ensure minimum downtime and maximum operational availability
• Carrying out all activities with the highest regard for health and safety

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Experience at Shift Team Leader or Senior Operator level in an operational power generation environment. This could be EFW, biomass, steel works and gas or coal fired plants
• Ideally experience as an SAP and experience with HV switching duties
• Ideally a relevant engineering qualification such as NVQ/HNC/apprenticeship etc
• Experience with coordinating and supervising work activities including shift staff and site contractors
• An adaptable approach to working routines and willingness to work on a shift pattern that involves 12-hour shifts
