Senior Planner required for a very well regarded Civils contractor operating across the infrastructure sector. They are a real success strory and have a loyal client base. There is a strong team ethic within the business meaning a well-motivated work force and a very low staff turnover. They are now looking for a planner to join their Civil engineering planning team working on Rail projects . For this role they will consider a site manager / or section engineer to move into planning.
The Role
To develop, manage and maintain project schedules, tenders and associated breakdown structures
Provide Planning expertise on infrastructure including, highways, drainage and bridges
Maintain, report and control schedules, identify interfaces, promote and monitor milestone definition sheets, establish baselines, code and resource schedules.
Ensure consistent application, effective and timely delivery of time management
Carry out critical path and earned value analysis producing reports where appropriate.
Work with Risk and Cost teams to develop summary schedules
Provide presentations, coaching and facilitation in the use of planning software
Provide guidance and undertake earned value analysis to inform proactive decision making and risk mitigation
Complete and close out schedule activities to capture as built data for time and cost benchmarking
About you
Ideally hold a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
Have a site background either 5 years in a site based role or 2 years as a planner
Understand and ideally be able to plan from first principles
Knowledge of Primavera and MS Project
Experience operating and communicating within a civil engineering environment.
