Job Purpose

Nuclear Technical Services Provider (NTSP) is a framework that will deliver specialist nuclear technical services to support the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Navy Command and other MOD organisations.

The framework will support the Clyde Infrastructure Programme (CIP) and wider Royal Navy and defence requirements. Its primary focus will be on delivering the refurbishment and upgrade of critical infrastructure at HMNB Clyde.

NTSP is a 7 year framework, with the option of a further 3 years, that will deliver specialist nuclear technical services valued between £250 million to £400-million to support DIO, Navy Command and other MOD Organisations.

5 Key Responsibilities

Creating cutting-edge designs, leading on project delivery or providing solutions 

Promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teams

Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and such that the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress

Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities

Ensure task and project risks are communicated and managed appropriately

Experience / Qualifications

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering essential

Chartered Engineer desirable

Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques applicable to mechanical design.

Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment

Detail design knowledge of mechanical mechanisms

Knowledge of relevant drawing standards

10 years Relevant experience in the Industry

Previous team management experience-essential

Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with client is essential.

Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.

Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
