Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Delivery Assurance & Governance Analyst to join a high-performing team on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure and technology programmes within the energy sector. This role sits within a dynamic Digital & IT function supporting large-scale project delivery, offering the chance to work at the heart of digital transformation in a critical national industry.
The role focuses on ensuring robust assurance and governance processes across a complex digital and IT portfolio, supporting project managers, maintaining governance standards, and contributing to the continuous improvement of portfolio delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce adherence to the Portfolio Governance Framework and associated schedules.
- Own and update governance templates and logs including:
o Weekly status reports
o Risks & issues
o Dependencies
o Investment cases
o Change requests
o Actions and decisions
- Ensure compliance with change control processes for all scope, cost, requirement, or timeline deviations.
- Schedule and coordinate governance meetings, ensuring all materials are prepared and distributed on time.
- Act as primary governance point-of-contact for project and programme managers.
- Facilitate onboarding for new stakeholders (e.g., project managers, business architects) regarding governance processes.
- Support assurance reviews, deep dives, plan assessments, and governance forums.
- Track and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies across the portfolio.
- Provide secretariat support to governance forums and Architecture Review Boards (ARB), including documentation, tracking of actions, and minutes.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of portfolio procedures, governance structures, and guidance documentation.

Skills and Experience Required
- Strong analytical and reporting skills capable of interpreting complex data from multiple sources.
- Experience working across multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities across a broad spectrum of internal and external teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to present complex information in a clear, concise manner.
- Sound understanding of project and programme delivery frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, Agile).
- Familiarity with governance structures and portfolio assurance processes.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, changeable environment and respond rapidly to shifting priorities.
- Experience supporting project investment processes and change control mechanisms.
- Exposure to IT architecture governance and supporting enterprise-level delivery boards is desirable.

Additional Information
- This is an initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension.
- The role is offered on an inside IR35 basis.
- Hybrid working is supported - typically 2-3 days per week on-site
