Morson are recruiting an Engineering Lecturer to work on a long term contract basis for a 12 month contract with our Lancashire defence client. Candidates will be Mechanical, Electrical or Aero and Aviation Engineering Lecturers and the role will involve creating a bespoke, creative curriculum to engage and inspire the apprentice community at our client’s state of the art training academy in Samlesbury. Candidates must be ok to work at least 2 days per week on site with the rest of the week from home.
You will be a responsible, confident and outstanding Mechanical, Electrical or Aero and Aviation Engineering Lecturer who has the skills to inspire Apprentices, colleagues and stakeholder. You will have an imaginative approach to teaching that generates wonderfully creative lessons to fully engage and inspire our Apprentices to achieve to the world class standards our client expects.
PGCE or equivalent is required with CAD HNC or above. Experience delivering CAD and Level 3 and Level 4 desired.
Applicants should have recent experience of teaching and mentoring and have the ability to work as part of a team to develop, share innovative and stimulating blended teaching and learning resources. Applicants must be passionate about teaching apprenticeship standards in the employer provider sector, and be committed to ensuring that our Apprentices make the best possible progress developing their skills, knowledge and behaviours. As such, applicants must have the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change. A teaching qualification is mandatory as is experience of developing blended learning resources and delivery on a VLE platform. It is highly desirable that the candidate has experience delivering on Aero and Aviation programmes up to Level 3 and/or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering programmes.
Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Lecturer will involve:
• Teaching on advanced manufacturing programmes, in line with Apprenticeship standards and company learning delivery models capitalising on ideas and innovation to enhance teaching and learning practice.
• Contributing to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum always promoting a positive, meaningful learning culture.
• Preparing and marking assessments as required within the range of programmes providing informative, meaningful feedback and ensuring rapid progress of our Apprentices individual development.
• Embedding the delivery of maths, English throughout the curriculum.
• Undertaking Apprentice performance reviews ensuring high quality target setting to continuously develop our Apprentices skills, knowledge and behaviours ensuring rapid progress is made.
• Producing full, considered and timely reports and data on Apprentice progress and further ensuring proactive data monitoring and analysis.
• Participating in Apprentice interviews, enrolment and induction, open days and enrichment activities.
• Participating in the development of an inclusive blended learning approach using CANVAS as a platform enriching the curriculum delivery.
Your skills and qualifications:
• A teaching qualification is mandatory paired with experience of developing blended learning resources and delivery on a VLE (virtual learning Environment) platform
• Experience delivering on Aero and Aviation or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering- Machining programmes up to Level 4
• Able to work as part of a team to develop, share innovative and stimulating blended teaching and learning resources
