Job Title: Data Protection Project Lead
Location: 2 days per week onsite at Olympic House, Manchester Airport, 3 days remote
Contract: 12-month contract (Inside IR35) with potential for extension or permanent opportunity
Day Rate: £550 per day
Working Hours: 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm

Morson Talent is recruiting on behalf of Manchester Airport Group (MAG) for a Data Protection Project Lead to join their Cyber & Technology team. Sitting within the data protection pillar of the cyber function, this role plays a key part in ensuring data protection and network security compliance across a range of ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the data protection aspects of multiple new projects, working cross-functionally with other technical teams (SAP, SOC, and infrastructure)
• Conduct data protection impact assessments and assess legitimate interest
• Identify and evaluate data protection risks at project inception and provide practical guidance
• Communicate data protection risk in a clear and accessible way to non-specialist stakeholders
• Manage the full assessment process from initial fact-finding to final recommendations
• Collaborate with wider teams to ensure alignment with cyber law requirements, including Network Information Systems (NIS) and PCI compliance
Experience Required:
• Proven data protection experience within a project or programme environment
• Experience in conducting DPIAs and applying data protection principles in practice
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex data risks
• Experience with Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) is desirable but not essential
• Ability to work autonomously and confidently across multiple workstreams
