These next-generation reactor designs present complex and stimulating modelling challenges, demanding innovation across mathematics, physics, engineering, and computational disciplines. As a key member of a forward-thinking technical team, you will contribute to high-level theoretical development, advanced software solutions, and technical analysis that supports a diverse portfolio of established and emerging reactor technologies.
This role offers not only the chance to expand your expertise in applied nuclear physics but also scope to take on leadership responsibilities in both technical development and collaborative projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing mathematical and physical theories to underpin advanced reactor modelling
Carrying out in-depth reactor physics analyses and plant performance studies
Delivering high-level technical training to specialist audiences
Collaborating in multidisciplinary teams to refine theoretical models and computational simulations
Presenting technical findings at internal meetings and industry conferences
Engaging with the global academic research community to maintain cutting-edge knowledge
Supporting business development by building relationships with international commercial clients
What We’re Looking For:
A degree (or higher) in mathematics, physics, engineering, or a related subject with strong mathematical content
Solid grounding in mathematical and physical theory, with the ability to apply this to real-world engineering challenges
Programming experience in languages such as Fortran, Python, or Java
Innovative thinking and a natural problem-solver with the ability to rapidly acquire new technical skills
A self-driven individual with a genuine enthusiasm for nuclear physics and engineering
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative environment
