Skills and Learning Consultant

Our client Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a Skill and Learning Consultant to join the team based in Glasgow City Centre.

It is a contract role until 31st of Dec 2025 initially and will be a hybrid role.

Main Purpose of Job
Aligned to our growth and transformation ambitions across the SP Transmission business, we are looking for a proactive Skills & Capability Consultant to lead and support capability related projects, helping us identify and address skill gaps, develop our talent and drive performance through the provision of strategic guidance and expertise in learning and development.. Supporting the skills agenda, you will develop the plan for delivery, setting standards and realising benefits.

Accountabilities
•Hands on development and delivery of skills & capability projects using appropriate organisational development methodologies,.
•Lead on the design, implementation and on-going adoption of skill frameworks across a range of skill families.
•Lead on the design and implementation of specific skill pathways.
•Lead stakeholder engagement, focus groups, design thinking workshops and utilise other data gathering tools to understand diverse perspectives in design phases.
•Develop and drive change management plans to ensure sustainability of implementation across business; provide expert guidance on change management and transformation initiatives, supporting and coaching line managers where required.
•Define career pathways that support a strategic workforce planning approach.
•Define learning pathways, sourcing or developing new learning solutions as required to assure all solutions are for purpose across capability areas. Provide stakeholders with consultancy support to ensure solutions align with business plans and priorities and are in line with Ibedrola Group direction, learning model and values.
•Provide scope and direction on the development of learning solutions and programmes and sign off final content with subject matter experts.
•Ensure that the performance of effective gap analysis and prioritisation of skill gaps feeds in appropriately to development planning and budgeting processes.
•Develop and present workforce capability analytics to enable data driven decision making.
•Measure outcomes and evaluate business impact of solutions; learn and iterate to continually improve and adapt to changing circumstances. Continuously improve and explore innovative learning methods and benchmark against external standards.
•Promote and drive ownership for learning to ensure that all employees have personal development plans in place and understand the development opportunities available.
•Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth mindset, where skills progression is top of mind for the organisation.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of individual and organisational skill and capability development.
• Proven experience in a similar role, in a large and complex organisation
• Experience in learning and in identifying strategic learning needs.
• Experience of engaging with and managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and at differing levels across the organisation.
• Experience with design thinking methodology is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of skills infrastructure technologies.
• Updated knowledge relating to blended learning solutions and developments in external market-place.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design and up to date learning technologies.

Skills:
Minimum Criteria (mandatory)
•Strong learning & consulting background in in a similar role, in a large and complex organisation.
•Solid experience in learning and talent, proficient in analysing, designing, delivering capability frameworks and related projects
•Strong change management proficiency to ensure sustainability of solutions.
•Stakeholder engagement and influence. Experience of coaching line managers and influencing senior management in commercial and training related decisions.
•Exceptional planning and organisational skills, to meet challenging deadlines and balance priorities.
