Job Description
NRS Dounreay requires a qualified and experienced Business Continuity professional, with minimum CBCI qualification
to join the resilience team on site for a temporary twelve month contract.
A vacancy has arisen in Security & Resilience for a Business Continuity Manager. The purpose of the post is to ensure organisational resilience, minimise downtime, protect assets and reputation and facilitate a swift recovery from disruption.
The job holder will manage the development and implementation of best practice in Business Continuity Management. The Job Holder will have responsibility for managing, developing and implementing the Business Continuity processes and framework for the site, including oversight of strategies and plans that ensure the organisation
can continue essential activities during and after disruptive events.
Responsibilities
Create detailed strategies and procedures to maintain or quickly restore essential activities through the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
• Create and maintain BCPs for all relevant areas
• Review and update plans based on lessons identified, changes in business operations, or emerging threats
• Conduct risk assessment and analysis in respect of identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities that could disrupt business operations
• Design, implement and maintain a business continuity management (BCM) system, to include context of organisation, leadership and commitment, policy, roles and responsibilities, objectives, operations planning and control, evaluation, and improvement
• Design and maintain a catalogue of critical systems, processes, equipment, roles, suppliers, and interdependencies in order of priority
• Ensure dynamic evaluation of the potential effects of disruptions on critical functions and processes through business impact analysis
• Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders and regulators on BCM related topics
• Provide advice, training and guidance on business continuity matters
• Lead on business continuity audits and take ownership of audit actions and improvements
• Drive continuous improvement and good practice in BCM in collaboration with NRS (sites & corporate)
• Perform the responsibilities of authorisations relevant to the post including one or more on call emergency related position for the Emergency Control Centre (ECC)
Aptitudes and experience
HND in Science/Engineering/Business or equivalent qualifications plus experience
• BCI certification
Ability to work on site at Dounreay and deliver within tight deadlines
• Demonstrable business continuity experience producing high quality plans and associated documentation
