Job Opportunity: Project Development Manager – Utility Scale Solar

Location: Hamburg, Germany (5 days in-office)

Company: Leading Renewable Energy Producer

Client

Our client is a leading renewable energy producer operating in more than 20 countries. Headquartered in France, they have been active in Germany for over 20 years and have realized more than 700 MW of green power projects.

Due to increased demand and continued success, they are now looking for an experienced Project Development Manager to join their team in Hamburg.

 

Your Tasks

  • Planning and development of solar energy projects, from securing land to construction readiness

  • Securing land, obtaining permits, grid connection, and remuneration in EEG auctions or via PPA agreements

  • Assessing location factors, project design and layout, and selecting suitable technology

  • Applying in-depth knowledge of economic value drivers and working with financing models

  • Collaborating with planning authorities, local authorities, statutory advisors, and landowners

  • Maintaining contact with a wide range of technical consultants

  • Recording and mapping project progress in a timely manner, adjusting where necessary

  • Managing and guiding colleagues, consultants, and project partners

  • Creating maps, topographic sections, visualizations, and plans for land securing and project development

  • Conducting contract negotiations and concluding contracts

 

Your Profile

  • 8–10 years of experience in project development for utility-scale solar projects

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

  • Strong ability to identify and secure suitable project sites

  • Experienced in communication with municipalities, landowners, and external partners

  • Skilled in evaluating technical and regulatory aspects of projects

  • Confident in considering commercial aspects throughout development

  • A good networker who can build and maintain business relationships effectively
