Document Controller

Our client Scottish Power Transmissions are currently recruiting for a Document Controller to join the team based in Cambuslang.

This will be a contract role for 12 months initially.

What you’ll be doing:
Directly reporting to the assigned PUM’s on a labour allocation basis taking day to day instruction from the PM’s allocated to ensure the projects are delivered on target within the boundaries of SPT IMS, supporting the documentation flow between SPT, our partners, contractors and suppliers for both EPC and PC contracts NEC4 contracts.

Accountability Statements
•Team contact for the DMS (process, training, communication, system development) including resolving issues as they arise on a daily basis.
•Throughout the project lifecycle, responsible for ensuring that access control is monitored effectively and updated in line with the business goals and objectives.
•Manage digital document workflows using DMS.
•Organize and maintain Project documents and ensure that all documents meet the requirements set out in the IMS. Facilitate the correction of documents with regards to correct Template used, revision, structure and approval.
•Support the ongoing document management system (DMS) processes and procedures review and development.
•Conduct regular inspection to ensure integrity of project documents e.g. Project template, Final File and Tender.
•Attend project Kick off Meetings as required.
•Administration of records, drawings and documents in accordance with the SPT IMS and other specifications.

•Establish and maintain project drawings registers.

•Establish individual project document transmittals.

•Coordinate final project archive, ensure integrity of final file after PM notifies completion.

•Coordinate final project archive.

•Upload Final File as built drawings to Vault, drawing comparator completion and work with engineering coordinator to resolve any issues.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
•HND or equivalent in business discipline/related area and/or previous Document Control experience
•Working knowledge of Document Management Systems with particular emphasis placed on document control procedures.
•Experience of ACC/Autodesk, Project Wise and SharePoint systems advantages
•Experience in a Document Control role for major construction or utility construction projects advantages
•Experience of ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 19650 (BIM) advantages
•Good inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with other individuals, departments and businesses
•Experience in final file / Project handover process advantages

Minimum Criteria
•Previous Document Control Experience.
•Excellent Literacy skills.
•Proven ability to work within a changing workload to agreed timescales.
•Be a proficient IT user on word, Excel and a recognised database software package
•Knowledge of ISO 9001 2015
•Knowledge of BIM ISO 19650
