Project Engineer - Nuclear Island

Join one of the UK’s most iconic infrastructure projects.

At Morson, we’re proud to partner with Sizewell C - a nationally significant infrastructure development at the heart of Britain’s clean energy future. As this next-generation nuclear power station moves from planning to delivery, we’re supporting the recruitment of skilled professionals who want to be part of a truly transformational project.

We’re now looking for a Project Engineer to join the Civil Works Programme (CWP) - a dynamic, fast-paced team responsible for the design and delivery of the civil engineering scope. This is an opportunity to be involved in a landmark UK megaproject that will play a critical role in reaching net zero targets and powering millions of homes for generations to come.

The Opportunity
As Project Engineer, you’ll be embedded within the Engineering & Technical function of the Civil Works Programme - providing essential support to ensure robust, coordinated and constructible designs are delivered to meet the technical and safety demands of a nuclear-grade project.

You’ll report to the Technical & Engineering Manager and be a key player in the lifecycle of the design - from early technical requirements through to engineering delivery and acceptance. You’ll also engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders across the wider programme.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in defining and validating technical requirements and specifications for the programme.

Support the management of technical change, including open points, design queries, and formal change control processes.

Contribute to technical assurance activities, ensuring design quality and readiness for acceptance.

Provide input into risk management processes and technical evaluations.

Coordinate with supply chain partners, design stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure effective collaboration and integration.

Support interface management across multiple areas of the project - including site establishment, off-site infrastructure and neighbouring assets.

Maintain compliance with programme design and engineering governance, contributing to quality planning and design control documentation.

Work in alignment with integrated work schedules to ensure deliverables meet required timescales.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:

Solid understanding of design processes in civil or structural engineering - particularly heavy civils (e.g. reinforced concrete, structural steel).

Familiarity with British Standards and UK design codes.

Experience working in technical delivery teams or project-based engineering environments.

Confident communicator with the ability to engage across multiple levels and functions.

Proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation within an engineering context.

Desirable:

Experience in nuclear or similarly regulated sectors.

Background in safety-related infrastructure or high-integrity structural systems.

Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStructE).

Qualifications:

Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).

Why Join the Sizewell C Programme?
This is more than a job - it’s a chance to be part of building the UK’s low-carbon future. With long-term prospects, complex engineering challenges and the opportunity to work on a nationally critical development, this role offers unique career growth in a supportive, high-performing environment.

Apply now to join the Sizewell C team through Morson - and shape the future of British energy.
