Morson Talent are working with a major player in the energy sector who has a current CONTRACT requirement for a Senior Risk Manager, to be based (primarily) from their London offices. All work is associated with an Nuclear industry leading construction project in Suffolk. This is a (renewable) contract position - inside IR35.
Principal Accountabilities
The post holder will be accountable for:
- Develop and Manage Programme Risk Registers
- Lead the identification and development of risk mitigation and/or action plans within the Programme Risk Registers.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining the Risk management Strategy/ Plan.
- Conduct Qualitative & Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) on the Integrated Works Schedule and advise Programme Directors of key areas of Risk to allow for mitigative actions.
- Organise and Facilitate workshops of large numbers of Project Managers to ensure all Risks are captured.
- Work with other Risk Managers to ensure Risks are not duplicated across other Programmes.
The postholder will be responsible for:
- Develop and facilitate risk workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
- Management of soecialist Risk Management Software .
- Liaise with project teams and programme leadership to identify new and emerging risks and manage and update current risks,
- Produce accurate periodic risk update reports to inform programme management.
- Manage and maintain the projects risk registers using the project risk database.
- Highlight risks that may require higher level management for resolution or escalation.
- Actively encourage and embed the risk management culture by conducting training and providing guidance to improve competency across the PMO & Programmes.
- Collaborate with other Project Controls disciplines to align Schedule and financial risks, and maintain alignment with best practice guidelines
- Recommend/ implement continuous process improvements as and when required.
- Ensuring the Quality/ suitability of Cost & Schedule models for QSRA & QCRA

• Good facilitation skills able to independently facilitate workshops within programme.
• Good technical skills able to independently deliver QRAs, spanning Cost QRAs and Schedule QRAs
o Linked capability to integrate/ support breadth of project controls/ project delivery/ business support processes (e.g. Finance)
• Good engagement skills able to independently engage teams of:
o Range of project and corporate professionals
Desirable
• Project management and broader project controls experience desirable.

• Good in-depth relevant sector experience/ broader sector experience

• Possible risk management/ other technical/ capital-intensive sector-specific management qualifications
