Summary:

As a P6 Planner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive scheduling and planning capabilities within the Innovation Portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be to support Programme Managers and Project Leads in managing project delivery schedules and coordinating them into a cohesive business delivery schedule. You will provide detailed milestone and cost reporting in alignment with work and cost breakdown structures. Additionally, you will conduct schedule impact assessments to support project and portfolio change control and risk processes, validate supplier schedule impact assessments, and oversee the maintenance of supplier contract baselines. Your role will ensure compliance with UK Power Networks’ project delivery and governance procedures, aiming to minimise time overruns and optimise project efficiencies.

Skills:

  1. Extensive experience with Primavera P6 for lifecycle programme management
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  4. Proficient in schedule risk analysis and mitigation strategies
  5. Capability to validate construction methodologies and resource loading
  6. Experience in multi-disciplinary project environments
  7. Familiarity with cost and resource management principles
  8. Ability to identify critical path and project slippage recovery strategies
  9. Experience in Earned Value Management reporting
  10. Proven track record of managing large project portfolios

Software/Tools:

  • Primavera P6
  • Microsoft Project
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Power BI (Desirable) 

Certifications & Standards:

  • Engineering-based degree or equivalent (desirable)
  • Project management certification such as APMP or Prince2
