About the Role:
Global Infrastructture Consultancy seeking an experienced HV/MV Distribution Electrical Engineer to join our team and lead the design, maintenance, and optimization of high- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems within a complex manufacturing environment. This is a key technical role ensuring power reliability, system integrity, and safe operations across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems (11kV - 132kV)
Conduct load flow, fault level, and protection coordination studies
Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of switchgear, transformers, and substations
Lead root cause analysis for electrical faults and implement reliability improvements
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, regulations (e.g. BS EN, IEC), and company procedures
Liaise with utility providers and support grid connection processes
Implement preventive maintenance strategies and asset health assessments
Support CAPEX projects and plant expansion initiatives
Work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams across manufacturing processes
Requirements:
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience in HV/MV distribution systems, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong knowledge of power system analysis, protection schemes, and control systems
Familiar with electrical safety rules (e.g., HV switching authorisation, Isolation/LOTO procedures)
Experience working with SCADA, PLCs, and energy management systems is advantageous
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
