Scottish Power Transmissions are looking for Quality Advisors to join them on a long term contract basis.
Role: Quality Advisor (Delivery)
Business: Scottish Power Transmissions
Location: Cambuslang/hybrid style working with site visits
Duration: 12 month initial contract with scope of renewal
Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available
The position of ‘Delivery Quality Advisor’ sits within SPT Projects, who are the Engineering and Construction arm of Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN). The role involves supporting large-scale CDM projects with advice and monitoring for various internal & external QA/ QC compliance.
The project types range from the refurbishment of existing Substations and Overhead Lines to new-build Substations, OHLs and Underground Cable installation. The projects typically have disaggregated work packages with multiple Contractors involved in delivering one project broken into Civil, Enabling Works, Balance of Plant, Commissioning and Free Issue Material supply contracts.
The role is hybrid working but will involve auditing and inspecting a number of sites within the network area, which can be from Stirling/ Fife to Scottish Borders/ Dumfries & Galloway (mileage reimbursement is based upon the Cambuslang office location, G32 8FA).
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of allocated projects during the construction phase, acting as the Quality Advisor.
Review and advise on Contractor’s Quality Management Plan, ITPs with associated Check Sheets.
Attend Project kick-off meetings to set clear Quality requirements/expectations.
Provide support and advice to project and office-based staff to achieve compliance with internal and external quality management systems and industry best practices.
Attend project progress and coordination meetings where required to provide quality input and advice.
Conduct regular site inspections to carry out quality audits and inspections with frequency determined by risk factor, verifying QA & QC adherence to quality standards. Support project team to identify and solve quality nonconformities, manage incidents and follow up.
Support project teams in identifying non-conformances and managing resolutions.
Assist in ensuring handover documents including completed ITPs records (verification data referenced) and as-built information are captured in a timely manner by conducting regular reviews of the final file.
Provide information to the Project Manager to support Contractor review and Lessons Learned.
Assist in the continuous development of team-wide quality processes and procedures.
Required Experience & Skills
HNC or Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering, or a related Construction discipline (preferred).
Site-based construction experience in a Civil/Electrical infrastructure environment (preferable).
Understanding of QA/QC principles and ISO 9001 standards.
ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor qualification (beneficial but not essential).
Working knowledge of Inspection & Test Plans/Check-Sheets for construction projects.
Working knowledge of raising and managing Nonconformances for construction projects.
Analytical mindset with good communication and problem-solving skills.
Current valid driving licence
CSCS card (preferable)
