Business Analyst – Investment Management – Permanent
My client is a leading investment management business looking to hire a Business Analyst to join their Change Management team, supporting a wide range of transformation and infrastructure improvement initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career across business change, investment operations and technology.
You will initially focus on the onboarding of newly acquired funds following a major acquisition, working closely with teams across Investments, Operations, Engineering and Quant. The role offers excellent exposure across the business and an opportunity to influence the future operating model of a growing investment firm.
What is expected by the Business Analyst:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to capture, analyse and document business requirements.
- Support the onboarding of new funds – understanding operating differences and defining scalable solutions.
- Analyse the current operating model to identify key gaps and improvement areas.
- Collaborate with Quant and Engineering teams to implement, test and deliver change.
- Track risks, blockers and dependencies, escalating as needed to ensure smooth delivery.
- Use tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage workflows and document user stories.
Essential skills required by the Business Analyst:
- 2–5 years’ experience in a business analysis type role.
- Bachelors degree, ideally within a STEM subject.
- Previous experience working in financial services or investment operations.
- Strong communication skills – able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Excel, and Confluence.
- Detail-oriented, logical thinker with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Desirable skills required by the Business Analyst:
- Exposure to SQL, Hive, or other data querying tools (not essential).
- Understanding of financial instruments (e.g. swaps, FX, derivatives) or fund operations.
- Experience working in an Agile or user story-led environment.
