Job Description:
As the Human Resources Head, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of the organisation’s development and classification policies and procedures at Qatar Shipyard. This includes establishing, managing, and administering organisation design, manpower planning, and employee engagement. You will also be responsible for managing the development and implementation of employee relations policies and procedures, including multi-tiered approaches to delivering HR services in policy governance, employee services, grievances, and disciplinary and separation processes.
Key Accountabilities:
Planning and Management:
- Act as the single point of contact for management, providing expert HR advice, guidance, and updates on HR matters. You will support managers in guiding them on employment matters, influence management around the people agenda, and maximise service performance. You will also identify HR priorities from corporate and departmental plans, translate business requirements into effective HR practises, and deliver people solutions aligned with business objectives. This includes key HR initiatives across the HR spectrum, such as workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee relations, and employee engagement.
- Take part in leading manpower optimisation initiatives and identifying strategies for optimal utilisation of the workforce to achieve more efficient structures and cost efficiency.
- Develop and deliver a robust employee relations and engagement strategy that aligns with our people’s priorities, looking beyond today and into the future.
- Continually monitor, maintain, and update employee relations and recruitment policies and procedures, staying abreast of legal issues relating to employment and employees. You will also propose best practises for all HR policies and procedures.
Key areas:
· Develop and implement various organisational development initiatives.
· Develop and update HR policies and procedures compliant with applicable regulations.
· Conduct employee engagement and satisfaction surveys.
· Manage employee relations processes.
· Ensure effective utilisation of HR-ERP system.
· Manage and monitor employees’ medical insurance processes.
· Manage and administer all employment contracts.
· Address employee queries promptly and ensure their compliance with policies and procedures.
· Manage and execute all employee exit activities in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business studies, Business Administration, Human Resources, or any other related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- A certification in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is a plus (e.g., CIPD, PHR, and SPHR).
Experience:
- Extensive experience in a managerial position.
- Previous experience in the shipyard industry and regional experience is preferred.
