Our client Scottish Power Renewables are seeking a Change Manager / Project Technical Administrator for a initial 12 month contract role either based in London or Glasgow.

This position would also suit a Project / Technical Administrator

Main Purpose of the Job

The Change Manager role sits within the Project Controls area, working closely with the Cost Control & Risk management functions.
The Cost Control Team is responsible for leading, coordinating and delivering cost control activities and processes within the offshore project according to the Cost Control Procedure. The Change Manager performs an important role in this team, focusing on the identification, detailed description, review, approval and implementation of changes impacting the project’s budget and other areas.
The role requires working with multinational and multi-functional team delivering the wider project.

Key Tasks

Monitor the project in its different areas to detect and highlight potential changes (deviations to the budget and variations to contracts).

Facilitate the Change Management process while providing change management support to the project team. Including:

Liaising with ‘Package Managers/Budget Holders’ to start the change process involving all parties affected by the change.

Coordinate the inputs and involvement of the parties to clarify, document, detail and analyse the change before looking for approvals.

Classify the changes and allocate to the adequate approval level to subsequently process them.

Interacting with the ‘Cost Control’ function to properly classify the deviations in the budget by WBS and AO that are arising from project changes.

Expediting inputs & approvals to the changes as they pass through the system, ensuring Change Approval Forms are processed in a timely manner.

Record and follow the approval status and budget implementation acting subsequently as point of contact for change status.

Maintaining and improving the change Management system/process.

Produce change related ad-hoc, weekly and month-end/executive reports.

Working with ‘Cost Control’ in order to understand the approved project’s budget, the forecast, and the impact of changes.

Supporting the effective communication and policing of change management on the project.

Working with ‘Cost Control’, ‘Project Planner’ and ‘Risk Manager’ to understand project issues and monitor their progress.

Bachelor of Engineering, Business Management degree or equivalent qualifications

Previous experience in:

Change Management processes.

Management roles on large projects and/or multi-disciplinary teams.

Using industry-standard IT applications (including Microsoft Office applications, Document Management Systems, etc.).

Interacting with Cost Control processes.

Interacting with Procurement / Contract Management processes.

Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Desirable

Previous experience in project management of offshore wind projects.

Ability to work collaboratively and with flexibility.
