Quantity Surveyor

|
England, United Kingdom

Morson Talent are recruiting for a number of Quantity Surveuyors to join one of our clients who are a provider of technical services, FM, regeneration and energy services.

You will be stationed at Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station, following this shift pattern: Monday to Friday, totaling 39 hours per week, with an expectation to be on-site for at least 3 days, though some work from home flexibility exists.

We are seeking individuals from Nuclear/Rail or related fields, perhaps with a Civils background, who can swiftly grasp contract intricacies. For the senior position, 20 years of experience is required, along with teamwork skills, approachability, good character, and trustworthiness for ticket handling and contract management. The second role requires less experience but demands the same attributes.

Your role as a Quantity Surveyor involves the day-to-day commercial management of contracts or subcontracts, including tasks like variation and claims management, change control, and final account closure, including dispute resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing cost control and management systems, reviewing commercial conditions during tender phases, estimating costs, and conducting risk reviews.
  • Implementing contract-specific commercial strategies and managing contract administration.
  • Negotiating subcontract packages and leading effective project contract and commercial change control.
  • Participating in regular project commercial reviews and audits, preparing project commercial and cost reports.
  • Interfacing with customers and subcontractors on main contract issues, identifying and managing claims and variations, and managing dispute resolution.
  • Liaising with the site team and attending weekly site progress meetings.
