Role Summary

The role of a Payroll Administrator involves managing payroll processing, resolving payroll-related queries, and maintaining detailed records for starters, leavers, and employee changes. It includes HR administration tasks such as onboarding, creating reports, maintaining employee data, whilst handling lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities:

Payroll processing:

  • Produce accurate and timely processing of monthly/weekly payroll for 2 companies, including salaried and hourly staff.
  • Process payments for various employee categories, such as overtime, premiums, and other ad-hoc payments
  • Maintain payroll records, including processing starters, leavers, and changes to employee details (e.g., salary increases, benefits).

Payroll Queries and Issue Resolution:

  • Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues, such as pay errors, tax code issues, or pension contribution queries

Documentation and Knowledge Management:

  • Maintain clear documentation of all payroll processes, project workflows, and updates to systems.
  • Support preparation and contribute to people/pay/finance audits

HR administration

  • Processing of starter and leaver paperwork for weekly employees
  • Create clock cards and access passes for all new starts and any changes as required
  • Creating and running reports from the HR and T&A systems
  • Maintenance of the HR system input and maintain all aspects of employee lifecycle data (including but not limited to starters, leavers, pay information, probation reviews and training)
  • Administration tasks – stationary ordering, photocopying, scanning, filing (maintenance of electronic files)
  • Track employee data, trends and analysis including new starters and leavers, short-term and long-term sickness, benefits etc. (prepare for board report)
  • Liaise with the wider HR Team to seamlessly onboard new employees and support administration of routes of recruitment from ‘temp to perm’ to ‘Send your Friend’ referrals.
