Location: Ipswich *Site Based*
The Wayleave Warden plays a key role in facilitating site access and maintaining strong relationships with landowners (Grantors), stakeholders, and project teams.
As a Wayleave Warden, you will have the following accountabilities:
- To liaise with client land teams, third party consents ,authorities and project team to facilitate project program and project team requirements. This may include Road and footpath closures with local authorities, planning applications for access routes off the public highway, applications to the Rivers and Canals trust etc.
- To communicate with Client lands team to secure agreed access and ascertain Grantor details and any specific requirements.
- To communicate on a daily basis with the Client and Project team regarding access to Grantor property, to keep the grantor informed of all required activities.
- To prepare weekly a grantor concerns schedule to inform all project staff of any specific access restrictions or requirements.
- To prepare a photographic / video record of condition prior to access to sites.
- To prepare a record of condition on completion of sites.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills – confident in face-to-face communication.
- Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with farmers and landowners.
- Understanding of agricultural practices and landowner sensitivities.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel daily to various rural locations.
- Team player with a proactive, hands-on approach.
Desirable Experience:
- Background in civil engineering, excavation works, or utility services.
- Familiarity with traffic management legislation.
- Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
