Planning Manager TDA

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Planning Manager for the TDA to be based at Sellafield site in West Cumbria. This is for legacy pond work.

Responsibilities of the TDA Planning Manager:
Management of the Planning Team.
Provide cover to all planners when on annual leave.
Management of TDA EPS within the SL IWM Primavera system, including management of resource dictionaries, resource codes, project codes, activity codes, XER’s/XML files and generate of new filters/layouts required to support the project team.
Assignment of planning resource to projects/tasks.
Production and update of planning processes and procedures, including Project Controls PXP.
Vplanner/Last Planner System trial – management of vPlanner and integration with P6 LIVE schedules (not fully up and running yet).
Attendance at collaborative planning sessions.
Dedicated planner to Decanner preparation project.
Input and governance of SQCDP milestones including re-baseline as required and weekly variance commentary within P6 (downloaded from P6 weekly).
Production, review and approval of P50 cost loaded schedules.
Maintenance of accepted P50 schedules, including NEC3 change control.
Ensure schedule compliance with NEC3 contract programme requirements (Clause 31.2).
Ensure schedules are realistic, practicable and comply with works information, including programme requirements (Clause 31.3 / 32.1).
Assist commercial team with assessment of compensation events (CE’s) and any impact to planned Completion.
Ensure schedules include a time provision for both implemented and unimplemented CE’s.
Ensure re-baseline of schedules following implementation of CE’s (including addition of BCWS to P50 baseline schedule).
Management of weekly progress updates and issue of weekly schedules.
Management of overarching TDA Construction Plan, 2-week, 4-week and 12-week lookahead, assisting with readiness and resourcing requirements.
Maintain compliance with the Integrated Works Management (IWM) process (T-12 to T-0), monitoring readiness and providing timely requests for plant resources (HP&S, Crane Drivers, Operatives etc.).

Required Skills:
Proficient in use of Primavera P6 including critical path analysis, application of project/activity coding, resource & cost loading, resource levelling and data extraction.
Ability to work effectively and manage an integrated team.
Construction planning experience.
EPC contract experience.
NEC3 contract planning experience (Option A, C and E).
Ability to cost & resource P50 schedules in accordance with approved estimates.
Earned Value Management (EVM) experience, including methods of progress measurement.
Understanding of remaining units, actual cost, cost at completion in Primavera P6.
Understanding of Rules of Credit and Quantity Tracking methods.
Understanding and application of make ready processes, such as the Sellafield IWM process and/or the Last Planner system.
Understanding of Change Management processes and procedures.
Application of Baseline Management in alignment with approved change control.
Understanding of Risk Management processes and procedures.
Exposure to client facing role, including project reporting requirements.

Desirable Skills:
Sellafield site experience.
Nuclear decommissioning experience.
Legacy Ponds & Silos experience.
P4 Pass Holder.
SC Cleared.

The rate is negotiable for the right candidate and this will be for an initial 12 month contract with a view to extend.
