The Role: As a Nuclear Physicist within Urenco’s Research and Development department, you will be the driving force behind the creation and execution of groundbreaking experiments. Your theoretical expertise will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of uranium enrichment processes, propelling us towards a greener future. You will work in collaboration with a team of industry experts, contributing your unique insights to revolutionize our methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan innovative experiments in the realm of nuclear physics, harnessing particle accelerators, cyclotron, and centrifuge cascade technology.
  • Apply your deep theoretical knowledge to practical research, uncovering new ways to optimize enrichment processes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring your experimental designs to life, contributing to the forefront of stable isotope enrichment advancements.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in nuclear physics, ensuring Urenco remains at the cutting edge of innovation.
  • Develop tools & processes for the production of medical radio isotopes. 

Requirements:

  • PhD in Nuclear Physics or a closely related field, with a strong academic record of achievements.
  • Hands-on experience with particle accelerators, ion sources or cyclotrons.
  • Proven ability to translate theoretical concepts into impactful experimental designs.
  • Passion for nuclear physics and a keen interest in contributing to cleaner energy solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
