Morson are recruiting Thermal Insulation Engineers on behalf of our prestigious client based in Barrow-In-Furness.
Job Description:
The Thermal Insulation Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining thermal insulation systems for industrial equipment, pipelines, and buildings to improve energy efficiency and safety. This role involves assessing thermal performance, selecting suitable insulation materials, and ensuring that installations meet safety and environmental standards.

38 hour week plus regular weekday and weekend overtime
Key Responsibilities:
Assess the thermal insulation needs of equipment, systems, and buildings, recommending appropriate materials and solutions.
Design and install thermal insulation on pipes, tanks, ducts, and machinery to control heat loss or gain.
Ensure that insulation systems are properly fitted, secure, and compliant with industry regulations and safety standards.
Conduct inspections and maintenance of existing insulation systems to identify wear or damage and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Work closely with project managers and other engineering teams to coordinate insulation requirements on construction or maintenance projects.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation on insulation projects, including material specifications and installation procedures.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in the selection and application of insulation materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience as a thermal insulation engineer or in a related trade with Marine Insulation experience
Knowledge of thermal insulation materials, techniques, and industry standards.
Strong understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability principles.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Relevant certifications or training in insulation or mechanical engineering is a plus. TICA cards Blue/Gold
Physical ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces or high places.
Due to the restricted nature of the role, all successful candidates will be subject to gain SC clearance prior to a start on site.
