Their Air Lubrication System (ALS) transforms the way vessels interact with water by creating a microbubble carpet along the hull, significantly reducing frictional resistance. As they embark on a journey of rapid expansion, they are seeking dedicated individuals to join their dynamic team and contribute to their mission of driving positive change in the maritime sector.

Role Summary:
Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the Product Safety Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our ALS product. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the Product Safety Case, overseeing safety analysis processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement risk reduction measures.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain the Product Safety Case.
Review and sanction product safety deviations, and implement risk reduction plans.
Keep senior stakeholders informed about product safety risks through established KPIs.
Foster a culture of safety within the team and across the organization.
Lead product safety analysis including HAZID, HAZOP, and FMEA.
Support technical teams in achieving As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) standards.
Conduct Functional Safety Assessments as necessary.
Provide expertise in Root Cause Analysis for problem resolution.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience & Characteristics:

STEM degree with prior experience in Product Safety within a regulated industry.
Chartered Engineering Status preferred but not mandatory.
Proficiency in safety analysis techniques such as HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, etc.
Familiarity with IEC 61508/61511 standards.
Knowledge of safety standards in the commercial marine industry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Location & Working Practices:

Contracted to their offices in London or Southampton, with flexible working arrangements under their Hybrid Working Policy.

Occasional overseas travel required to support role execution.
