MEICA Electrical Lead

As a MEICA Lead, you will be responsible for the leadership, planning, and delivery of the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (MEICA) and Commissioning phases throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires ensuring that all project elements are delivered on time and within budget constraints while complying with Thames Water and British standards, as well as WIMES specifications. You will collaborate with MEICA designers, the site construction team, subcontractors, and Thames Water to optimise project delivery through standardisation, consistency, and best practices. Your responsibilities include understanding the full scope of MEICA & Commissioning, identifying and managing risks, ensuring compliance, and promoting health, safety, and environmental best practices. You will also lead the production of handover documentation and participate in client audits. As a key figure in the project, you will attend necessary meetings and workshops, provide guidance, and ensure that all activities align with the Costain/Thames Water framework expectations.

Skills:
Minimum of 10 years experience in MEICA Design, Delivery & Commissioning within the Water Industry
Experience as an electrical or mechanical authorised person on complex systems
Proven ability to deliver multiple projects from design to handover
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of MEICA processes including ECI, De-Risking, and Design Review
Proficiency in RAMS collation & review, Quality plans, ITPS, check sheets, programmes, and manuals
Ability to identify and mitigate risks
Experience with construction best practices
Excellent organisational and time management skills

Software/Tools:
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Certifications & Standards:
Relevant discipline engineering HNC or engineering apprenticeship
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS/ECS Card)
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
First Aid at Work certification
Valid Blue Water Hygiene card
Thames Water Passport
Professional membership with IET/IMechE/SOE (EngTech/IEng/CEng preferred)
