Agile Coach

We are currently looking for an Agile Coach to work on the Sizewell C project.
This will be a contract role to run to the end of December but likely to be extended and be long term.
Within the Employee Affairs Unit, and specifically in relation to the delivery of the Silver Book project, we have identified the role of an Agile Coach who will be providing coaching and production support.

The role will be instrumental in driving behaviours and practices of incremental and continual improvement as well as promoting a culture of efficiency and agility across the project, while at the same time exploring intelligent replication of content and lessons learnt from the HPC Silver Book implementation. As part of the Silver Book project team, the Agile coach will report to the project lead and EAU Operations Manager. The role requires supporting the EAU Operations Manager as well as actively forging close liaison with all relevant teams, programmes, and functions within the SZC project, as required.

The role will design, plan, and deliver sprints for agile delivery of structure and contents of the SZC Silver Book, sharing of lessons learnt and best practice. From a project perspective, the role will support the EAU Operations Manager plan the project timeline, capture risks, issues, opportunities and interdependencies with other projects within SZC to ensure right level and directionality of interactions and a collaborative mindset.

The focus of the role will be to assist in delivering the SZC Silver Book project outcomes, as well as recommendations for implementation in terms of an accessible platform, formats for the Silver Book, etc. The role would also involve designing, planning and coaching sprints delivered by agile project teams of subject matter experts across various experiential backgrounds, internal as well as external to the SZC project.

Key Stakeholders and Relationships
The post holder will be required to support collaborative and proactive work with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to:
- External Stakeholders such as Trade Union Representatives
- Programme Directors, Programme Managers, PMs and Sponsors
- SZC PMO (if required)
- EAU Teams

• The post holder will be based at Sizewell C locations but will be required to travel to other company locations in the UK as required.
• This post holder will not have line management responsibility and will be required to coach project team members in process improvement techniques such as Agile as required.
• This post is not permanent and will be active only for the duration of the Silver Book Implementation project.

Principal Accountabilities (Outputs of the Job – Activities & Decisions)
The post holder will be responsible for:
• Assisting the EAU Operations Manager in the delivery of the SZC Silver Book project
• Devising a system for sharing best practices and lessons learnt among project participants to allow for continuous improvement.
• Working out any project risks, issues, opportunities, and interdependencies
• Designing, planning, and delivering sprints for the completion of the Silver Book structure and contents
• Supporting Head of EAU and other project sponsors with governance and delivery of project outcomes
• Supporting the EAU Operations Manager in establishing and managing the project teams, including behaviours and skills
• Supporting the exploration of opportunities to implement an IT platform for the Silver Book

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Educated to professional standard and membership of an appropriate body and to degree level or equivalent.
• Pro-active and able to thrive in a fast-past and dynamic environment.
• Comfortable with challenging assumptions and processes in order to constantly improve project outcomes
• Experienced in working within Major Programme environment preferred.
• Facilitation Skills
• Experience of process improvement and efficiency techniques with emphasis on Project Management and Agile.
• Experience in coaching Agile teams through sprints.
• Certification in Agile (e.g. Scrum Master, etc)
• Certification in Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, etc)

Desirable
• Demonstrable use of numerical and verbal communication skills within a business environment
• Experience in managing teams.
• Experience in Production Management within complex programmes.
