SharePoint Engineer
Preston / Hybrid (1-2 days a month onsite)
12 months initially
£47.12ph inside IR35 / Umbrella

Role Description
• Will be responsible for working with the Squad Leads, Business Engagement Leads and Stakeholders to translate demands / requirements into work packages that can then be delivered within agreed time and cost whilst maintaining agile principles.
• Will have the ability to adapt these plans in line with prioritisation of demand.
• Lead on a broad range of complex activities, in a variety of contexts. Can investigate, define and resolve complex issues. Assists in other areas of IT process, service and project.
• Communicates and can present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to Influences customers, whilst participating in activities relating to own area of expertise.
• Makes decisions which influence the success of projects and team objectives.
• Collaborates regularly with team members, users and customers. Engages to ensure that user needs are being met throughout
• Takes ownership of plans, manages changes to schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets
• Maintaining high performance levels for service-related processes, and implementing improvement activities wherever necessary
• Provides advice and guidance to the service continuity planning process and implements resulting plans.
• Investigates operational requirements and problems, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Ensures the underlying issues arising from investigations are documented and resolved.
Core Duties
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
• Reporting to the SharePoint Senior Squad Lead, the SharePoint Engineer will work under the technical guidance of the SharePoint Technical Lead to deliver and support Enterprise SharePoint across the client’s systems.
• Working alongside the Business Engagement Leads and fellow SharePoint Engineers to maintain a close working relationship between the EIT SharePoint Product team its stakeholders.
• Work closely with internal customers across all UK Business helping to capture requirements for Business as Usual improvements to their SharePoint deployments, developing innovative solutions then delivering against agreed work packages. Whilst ensuring all SharePoint deployments and developments adhere to internal Governance.
• Lead and promote discussions and help generate new ideas around how to break down requests and deliver value early and often throughout the process, and share knowledge with other members of the SharePoint Product Team.
• Arrange, design and lead workshops with customers and other key stakeholders to provide regular demos and gather feedback
• Liaising with suppliers, team members, senior leaders and industry peers to continuously improve delivery whilst working with customers to introduce innovation and evolve the product, documenting technical business requirements and process into a format that the business can understand
• Take a lead role within project teams in the upgrade of SharePoint to future versions, closely working with customers, partners and suppliers to effectively and efficiently migrate content from different SharePoint Versions
• Proactively challenge poor practice and define and promote best practice.
• Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information. Ensures feedback from customers and stakeholders is utilised to provide continuous improvement.
• Leads on the investigation of operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
• Is seen as the Product Lead for any new or improved practices, processes or standards and facilitates improvements to the services.
• Will be considered the SME for a significant domain, discipline or technology
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Best practice application management in line with ITIL Processes
• Experience of working with the multiple versions of SharePoint
• An experienced individual that has worked in a similar role or environment for at least three
years
• An understanding of application development and promotion into multiple environments
• Awareness of business unit policies and procedures
• Experience managing Stakeholders
• Experience of using 3rd party tools such as but not limited to Nintex, K2, Sharegate, Linkfixer

• A high level of experience in supporting the delivery of projects and large change requests
• Ability to frequently manage changing priorities and multiple stakeholders, but to keep end-objectives in sight
• Effective leadership and coaching skills with the ability to lead and influence across high performing teams
