Morson is currently recruiting a highly skilled Procurement Professional to join BAE Systems at their Preston site on a 12-month contract basis. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking procurement team within one of the UK’s leading defence organisations. The role sits within the Learning & Development Category of the Indirect Procurement Services team, supporting strategic sourcing for Skills Training, Education, and associated services across the enterprise.


Role: Procurement Professional
Location: Preston (Hybrid – minimum 2 days onsite per week)
Type: 12-month contract
Rates: PAYE £35/hr + £5.09 holiday pay OR £47.12/hr Umbrella


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support procurement activities including category management, supplier sourcing, and contract negotiation

  • Develop and maintain a robust category strategy to optimise the procurement of Learning & Development and Education services

  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes including RFI, RFP, RFQ, tender evaluation, and contract placement

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and act as the primary procurement contact

  • Support the implementation of supplier relationship management (SRM) initiatives to drive value and performance

  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying and implementing ways to enhance procurement processes and efficiency

  • May take on leadership responsibilities including managing team members or delegating tasks as required


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management within a complex organisation

  • Strong knowledge of the procurement lifecycle and sourcing strategies

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Confident in negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers

  • A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Interest in Learning & Development and Education services is an advantage

  • CIPS Level 6 (MCIPS) or working towards is preferred
