Electrical Project EngineerKent
Our nuclear sector client has a long-term contract opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to work from their site in Dungeness, Kent. Electrical Engineer with at least five years experience in design, installation and commissioning plant and distribution systems using 11KV to 110V. Must have good knowledge of Electrical standards (including BS7671 18th edition) and procedures used in regulated industries (ideally nuclear). Must have extensive experience in producing design and commissioning documents of electrical systems. Qualification: Preferably BSc in Electrical Engineering (will consider HND or HNC) Due to the nature of the work BPSS security clearance will need to be obtained before commencement of the contract.
Our nuclear sector client based in the Kent area have a 1 year contract requirement for a Senior Systems Engineer Purpose of Role To provide a focal point of engineering expertise and ownership for a portfolio of assigned plant systems and/or assets with higher nuclear, radiological, environmental or business significance. Deliver a comprehensive engineering service to customers and stakeholders, maintaining long term safety, performance, reliability, material condition and compliance. A System Engineer (Senior) will provide more complex engineering solutions to higher profile projects, underpinned by a high level of technical knowledge and experience. Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities * Provide the focal point and ownership for a portfolio of assigned systems and/or assets. * Maintain an engineering strategy for the assigned systems and/or assets to deliver long term health. * Make recommendations for system and/or asset investments. * Carry out and record routine system walk downs. * Record, trend and analyse system performance monitoring data as appropriate and take the necessary corrective actions. * Maintain a system file. * Specify the necessary periodic maintenance routines and spares holdings to meet regulatory, compliance and performance requirements and ensure satisfactory completion. * Maintain a good overall knowledge of the safety case as it applies to the assigned systems and know the functional requirements, key limits and conditions for safe operation. * Produce and/or approve relevant documentation for assigned systems such as Technical Specifications, Work Instructions, Method Statements, Plant Item Operating Instructions, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments. * Produce and Manage modification proposals and act as the Nominated Responsible Engineer (NRE) for plant modifications. * Act as a consultant for projects undertaken on assigned system providing proactive technical support and ensuring smooth handovers to and from projects. * Deputise for Section Head when required. * As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence * Comply with the site's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards. * Work flexibly within the team and support and mentor other System Engineers in order to optimise the safe delivery of all specified Lifetime Plan activities to the required quality, time and cost parameters. * Carry out timely investigation of events and review on-site and off-site events via the Operational Experience Feedback process, ensuring that relevant learning points are applied to assigned systems. * Undertake delegated responsibility for the Design Authority and site intelligent customer when required. * Undertake emergency scheme duties when required. Education / Qualifications / Training * Minimum HNC National Qualifications Framework (NQF level 5) preferably a relevant Degree or working towards (NQF level 6) * Membership of a relevant Engineering Institute * Chartered Status Experience / Knowledge * Significant experience in a practising disciplined Engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, C & I or Civil) on industrial plant. * Significant nuclear and conventional plant operation and/or maintenance experience * Detailed understanding of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards * Working knowledge of the Safety Rules and detailed knowledge of risk assessment methodology * Detailed knowledge of relevant Site Licence and Quality Management System requirements Contract Management experience
Senior Project Mechanical EngineerKent
Our nuclear sector client based in the Kent area have a longer term contract requirement for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer. To provide fit for purpose engineering solutions for complex projects. To ensure that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately. A Project Engineer (Senior) will provide more complex engineering solutions to higher profile projects, underpinned by a high level of technical knowledge and experience. Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities * Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project. * Manage engineering support to the project. * Contribute to production of Project Execution Plans including design, safety case and commissioning strategies. * Support project optioneering process. * Develop concept design and fit for purpose engineering solution for projects. * Produce and/or approve project technical specifications. * Manage detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards. * Prepare modification proposals as required, acting as Nominated Responsible Engineer where appointed. * Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments. * Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent. * Approve as built drawings. * Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning * Manage hand over to systems/operations ensuring that all drawings, instructions and training have been supplied as required. * Liaise and consult with system engineer and other stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. * Maintain site configuration control throughout project lifecycle. * Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site. * As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence. * Review on-site and off-site events and root cause analysis to promote improved working practices. * The post holder may be required to undertake delegated responsibility for the Design Authority and act as a site intelligent customer. * Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism. * Deputise for Section Head when required. * The post holder may be required to undertake emergency scheme duties Training The post holder will be required to complete training as defined in Common Training Profiles, supplemented by Site Specific Training Profiles when required. This contract is inside IR35 and base line security clearance will need to be obtained.
