Graphic Designer

£23.39 per hour PAYE or £30.86 per hour Umbrella

Morson are currently recruiting for a Graphic Designer for one of our prestigious defence clients at Barrow-in-Furness on a contract basis. You would be supporting the change team as they deliver engaging content across the organisation to improve adoption. We are looking for a Graphic Designer or Technical Author that can deliver illustrations based on technical details and training materials to a varied audience.

We are offering the role on a 6 month contract basis, with the possibility of extension or permanent conversion. The role is hybrid remote, so expect a typical week of 3 days on site. We can pay a rate of £23.39 per hour PAYE or £30.86 per hour Umbrella.

Responsibilities

  • To support Business Change Projects within programme. The individual will work with the various project workstreams to support the design, development and execution of effective communications & engagement plans, training plans and the associated draft content. The individual will work with the necessary stakeholder to develop, co-ordinate and manage the timely release of project communications & training through the appropriate business channels. The individual will be required to design and develop effective infographics and review and simplify technical language to effectively illustrate and convey messages in a digestible format. The overall goal of this practitioner and their role is to support the effective embedment of business change.
  • Support a Project Manager with aspects of managing a larger project.
  • Have a level of experience in one or more areas of PM practice and be expected to be able to adapt and apply these practices in different circumstances, to develop these practices and to guide and instruct others in their application.
  • Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/ Microsoft packages.
  • Able to lead a small non-complex project or a work package of a larger project.
  • Able to manage the full project lifecycle to ensure that, over time, the needs of customers/users continue to be met and that financial and other benefits are achieved.

Requirements

  • Ideally looking for a candidate with Adobe Creative packages including; illustrator, Indesign & Photoshop
  • Experience with Training Content Software e.g Articulate, Captivate.
  • Ideally looking for someone to create animated communications, able to draw illustrations and create GIFs
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of PM policies, processes, procedures and systems.
  • Comprehensive PM experience demonstrated in a professional capacity within a project.
  • Good understanding of the structure, organisation, processes and culture of Line of Business, so as to be able to support implementation of appropriate PM approaches.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
