Our client Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a People Solutions Consultant to join their team based in Glasgow. on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for someone with Project Management skills, experience with change management, data interpreting skills, HR professional with generalist HR and consultancy experience, significant experience in delivering HR solutions, projects, workstreams and deliverables utilising project management disciplines and experience or interest in operating in a collaborative agile model.

For more information on this role see below: As a member of the Solutions Team within People Strategy you will have responsibility for delivery of People solutions and projects, on behalf of ScottishPower HR People and Organisation and the Iberdrola Group. ensuring delivery approaches align with Iberdrola Group principles, values and business priorities.

Using established frameworks, you will develop solutions to drive customer value by applying diagnostics processes to problems, through consultancy conversations. Managing projects, workstreams and deliverables of activity for Business and People and Organisation Stakeholders.

1. Work with a agility within a consultancy teamworking model, focused on: pace, collaboration change agency, leveraging skills & specialisms, and team & personal development.
2. Support People and business plans through the delivery of allocated projects and supporting work streams and deliverables as part of a larger programme, deploying a consultancy approach independent from the project sponsors. Proactively manage and effectively deliver solutions supporting both the Business and People Strategies and the SHRM plans.
3. Utilise established frameworks, tools and policy, to plan, develop and implement the most effective approach to solutions delivery. Contributing to continuous improvement by making suggestions and implementing improvements to these frameworks and working practices.
4. Scope out the requirements of projects individually or collaboratively with a team to understand project sponsor goals, rationale for change and strategies for delivery.
5. Research project/workstream deliverables to provide potential solutions which include approach, methodology and tools, make recommendations on the best way to achieve the desired outcome, including no further action if appropriate.
6. Be future focused with a joined up, collaborative approach. Consider the wider impacts, e.g. SP and Global view, commercial, financial etc.
7. Impact assess recommendations for the wider People teams including the required support and resource capacity and impact on People systems and policies and procedures.
8. Develop a plan to meet the specific requirements of the allocated project or deliverable.
9. Identify, plan and manage stakeholders, by gathering their input including consultation, negotiation and information gathering and sharing.
10. Complete lessons learned and share experiences and new knowledge to continually improve the service we provide and contribute to increasing People capability.
11. Through interactions in delivering specific projects identify additional value adding work that could be investigated, make recommendations including rationale and potential benefits, escalate proposal as appropriate.
12. Responsible for delivering and completing projects within agreed timeframes and reporting on progress of delivery, identifying and highlighting challenges and risks to the relevant stakeholders.
13. Responsible for robust job slotting and job evaluations, working collaboratively with the Reward Team

Delivering projects, project solutions and supporting workstreams to deliver solutions over complex matrix management structures, working across all Scottish Power businesses.

Managing a range of competing priorities for multiple and varied stakeholders, customers, and business areas.

• Graduate or equivalent with appropriate professional qualification
• Experience of working in a consultative capacity, and proven ability in effective consultancy conversations to ensure delivery of People solutions.
• Act as a business expert on HR methodologies, including change management to provide solutions to support People and business operational plans.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
• Ability to make robust data-led decisions
• Ability to work in partnership with the business and People teams, and build effective relationships
• Able to research HR topics with a commercial focus
• Ability to formulate a plan and deliver the required outcomes
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels including Business Partners, project sponsors and trade union and employee representatives
• Proven ability of working in collaboratively with the business and People Teams

Responsibility for organising own workload within either a project they are leading, or within the parameters of a larger project/programme of activity they are delivering within

Typically, they will manage their workload over a 6 month to annual horizon

Manage deliverables taking account of competing priorities whilst delivering for multiple stakeholders across ScottishPower, and less often group

Internal Contacts include:
• Influence the business, including business senior management, as well as Business Partners, Project Sponsors, and Employee Representatives
• Provide updates to Business Partners on activity in their area
• Liaise with internal support and resources including wider People teams, wider business and corporate teams

External contacts include:
• Leverage the relationship with external contacts to ensure relevant benchmarking and information is shared with People colleagues
• Trade Union for supporting consultation and negotiation

Minimum criteria:

• Graduate or equivalent with appropriate professional qualification (CIPD)
• HR professional with generalist HR and consultancy experience
• Significant experience in delivering HR solutions, projects, workstreams and deliverables utilising project management disciplines
• Experience or interest in operating in a collaborative agile model
