Senior Streetlighting Engineer

Senior Engineer – Technology & Lighting
Location: Warrington 
Salary: PB6 – £46,030 to £52,120
Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)

About the Role:
Morson Talent is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading UK infrastructure organisation for a Senior Engineer – Technology & Lighting to join their Operational Delivery team in the North West. This role will focus on the strategic development of early solutions for technology and lighting assets, ensuring compliance with national asset standards and driving innovation in asset management.

As a senior member of the team, you will take the lead on evaluating asset conditions, developing early-stage designs, and coordinating key project resources, with a strong emphasis on safety, data integrity, and engineering quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the development of early solutions for asset improvements or renewals.

  • Identify asset needs based on condition data and prioritisation methodologies.

  • Assure adherence to asset policies, standards, and technical procedures.

  • Maintain accurate asset and condition records in relevant databases.

  • Monitor delivery of early-stage plans and liaise with operational teams to address issues.

  • Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing are embedded throughout all planning and delivery activities.

Requirements:

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, with membership of a relevant professional body.

  • Degree or HND in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong understanding of asset degradation and condition assessment techniques.

  • Familiarity with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and its application.

  • Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.

  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points (essential for the role).

  • External applicants are typically offered a starting salary at the lower end of the scale.
