Commercial Manager

A leading client in the Rail Industry is recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join the team on a permanent basis on the Twyford to Greatworth (T2G) section of works based in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
In this role you will:

- Carry out tasks independently, at times this will involve leading a small group of commercial staff and carry out both periodical duties and one-off tasks in accordance with deadlines as directed by the senior Commercial team.
- You will maintain registers to aid the commercial management of change and chair meetings where applicable.
- You will liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders and establishing productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- You will also ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained and in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues.
- Provide input into change control procedures for EOT, delays and performance adjustment
- Prepare and agree on compensation events and quotations
- Negotiate and progress the resolution of any disputes and identify potential commercial risks and evaluate options for their control and management.
- You will be accountable for conducting quality and assurance checks on submitted change proposals and to ensure clear visibility of implications and movements from the programme baseline position regarding scope, budgets, and schedule while raising any issues or risks.

About The Candidate
- Quantity Surveying degree or similar with extensive experience in an infrastructure environment
- Enrolled in, or seeking membership of, a relevant professional institution (CICES, RICS or similar).
- Successful experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level, displaying skill in delivering a positive commercial outcome for the project(s) with which you have been associated.
- Experience of NEC contracts
- The ability to listen, learn and take on board new concepts and carry out actions, whilst mentoring junior team members.
- Driving licence is required for this role
- CSCS card is required for this role (White or White/Yellow)
