We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer, who will be specialised in electrical fire maintenance. The primary responsibility is to conduct reactive maintenance on control panels and fire electrical systems, such as detectors and sensors, as well as fire protection systems. The role involves responding to fault reports, performing testing or fault finding to diagnose issues, and completing necessary repairs.
This position requires night shifts, working 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am on a 4-on-4-off basis. You will be working predominantly on fire systems located within underground staff areas and control rooms. It is essential that applicants possess ICI-LU certification and have experience working in underground environments.
Skills / duties:
Responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of fire alarm systems
Ensure timely completion of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks, coordinating all team activities to meet deadlines.
Identify and rectify technical issues with fire alarm systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum system efficiency.
Maintain positive working relationships with clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Responsible for producing accurate documentation, including test results, engineer reports, and system assessments.
Fault finding and diagnostic skills
Experience in electrical repair and maintenance Familiarity with control panels and fire protection systems
Proficiency in testing and commissioning electrical systems
Ability to work night shifts
Strong problem-solving skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Experience in underground work environments
Hands-on experience with fire detection systems
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Rate:
From £26 - £32 per hour – depending on experience via PAYE or umbrella.
Software/Tools:
• MAXIMO (or similar work management systems)
Certifications & Standards:
• ICI-LU certification
Please note this is night shift work only, shift pattern, 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am on a 4-on-4-off basis.
