Electrical Designer
We are seeking an Electrical Designer within the Nuclear Industry, with hybrid working arrangement based over multiple locations:
Warrington
Bristol
Preston Bamber Bridge
Leicester
Glasgow (SC Clearance)
You will play a pivotal role in decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and contributing to the operation and construction of nuclear power plants.
The Role:
As an Electrical Designer, your day-to-day responsibilities will be far from ordinary. You will be accountable for creating design solutions and deliverables to required standards, consistent with the entire lifecycle from concept through to in-service support. This involves:
Drawing Preparation: Prepare & Produce drawings throughout the design lifecycle, aligning with recognized ISO standards, meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.
Collaboration: Promote effective co-operation across Design and other functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Documentation: Prepare, produce, and maintain project documentation essential for the design lifecycle. Regularly update as-built documentation.
Liaison: Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during the design lifecycle to ensure coordination and functionality. Actively contribute to design reviews.
Innovation: Develop innovative design solutions and contribute to resolving manufacturing and installation issues by assisting in the resolution of Production and Technical Queries.
Support to Senior Designers: Assist more senior designers in various activities, including the production of estimates, maintenance, and improvement in the standard and quality of outputs.
Industry Awareness: Maintain awareness of developments within the industry, particularly for techniques & tools, physical integration, bill of material controls, and management of design maturity.
Health and Safety: Exercise care for your own health and safety and that of others in accordance with Health and Safety legislation. Adhere to endorsed Company policies, procedures, and delegations.
Essential Experience:
Knowledge of CAD tools.
Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
Qualifications:
ONC/HNC/HND (or equivalent) OR BTEC National Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) OR appropriate apprenticeship of specialization.
MUST BE ABLE TO GAIN BPSS CLEARANCE
