UL/UEC is looking for a Group Export Control Manager. This job is grade E18.
Based at our Paddington site location, you’ll be responsible for and manage compliance with Urenco’s multi-site UK export licence, and provide guidance and advice to the Urenco Group on applicable export control legislation.
You’ll establish and maintain arrangements necessary to ensure the Urenco Group complies with all legal and regulatory obligations associated with the import and export of all dual-use goods, software and technology, in line with the terms of Urenco’s multi-site export licence.
You will act as the export control subject matter expert, key point of contact for day to day export control advice, and escalation point for export control queries.
What you’ll do:
- Lead export control investigations and management of associated outcomes e.g. correctives actions, record keeping and communication with Regulators.
- Govern and deliver the internal export control audit and self-assurance programmes.
- Manage Part 810 requirements in collaboration with US export control representatives.
- Support the Head of Export Control for ongoing implementation of the Export Control Strategy, Export Control Charter and team reporting requirements.
- Co-ordinate, prepare for, and represent the Urenco Group at all UK export control audits and develop and implement continuous improvement actions to address any issues arising out of export control audits.
- Maintain and develop internal export control policies and procedures, including internal processes required to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage compliance with Urenco’s multi-site UK export licences.
- Liaise with other Urenco Group export control personnel, including but not limited to site export control coordinators, project teams, Group Information Security, Personnel Security, and Head of Legal to develop an understanding of the impact of export regulations on the business operations of the Urenco Group as a whole.
- Develop an organisational understanding of, and adherence to, export control regulations and improve internal processes to maintain compliance.
What do you need to thrive in this role?
- · Minimum of 5 (five) years’ experience in an export control compliance role
- · Specialist and detailed knowledge of relevant UK export control regulations (other relevant jurisdictions including the US (Part810), Netherlands and Germany is desirable)
- · Experience of leading export control investigations and audits.
- · Familiar with export control licence applications within the UK (other relevant jurisdictions including the US, Netherlands and Germany is desirable)
- Professional and enthusiastic with good self-awareness.
- Ability to analyse complex business situations and to advise on the impact of export control regulations.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical processes for export control compliance.
