Employment Type: Permanent

Help Deliver Complex Engineering Projects that Power the UK’s Infrastructure
We’re supporting Morson Projects, a key engineering consultancy delivering multidisciplinary project solutions across energy, defence, and infrastructure sectors. With a growing portfolio of high-value programmes, they are seeking a Senior Project Planner to join their internal project controls function.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape critical programmes valued between £2M–£20M, providing planning and cost expertise from initial concept through to project completion. If you’re looking for a long-term role where your input drives outcomes and supports UK-wide engineering excellence, this could be the perfect fit.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Planner, you’ll lead planning, scheduling, and cost forecasting across multiple live projects. You’ll develop detailed programmes, manage progress tracking, and provide critical insight to ensure delivery stays on course. Working with multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, and delivery, you’ll support decision-making and continuous improvement across the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.

  • Analyse project requirements and critical paths to support progress measurement and forecasting.

  • Prepare and issue regular progress reports and programme updates to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support cost performance baselining and earned value tracking in collaboration with commercial teams.

  • Coordinate resource planning, procurement timelines, and material schedules.

  • Contribute to change management, identifying impacts on time and cost.

  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and supply chain to keep project controls aligned.

  • Attend project reviews and contribute to planning workshops and risk discussions.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in planning and scheduling within complex engineering or EPC project environments.

  • Expert user of Primavera P6.

  • Familiarity with cost forecasting, earned value management, and project reporting tools.

  • Strong understanding of project controls principles and delivery milestones.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to work across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on energy, T&D, nuclear, or industrial infrastructure projects.

  • Exposure to client-facing or tier1/2 contractor roles within regulated sectors.

Why Apply?

  • Join a well-respected consultancy with long-term frameworks and varied project exposure.

  • Hybrid working and flexibility tailored around project demands.

  • Supportive, knowledgeable team with a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

  • Opportunity to play a key role in national infrastructure programmes.
