Estimator – Civil Engineering (Water Sector)

Morson Talent is recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK. About the Role:
As an Estimator, you’ll be a key player in the work-winning process, working collaboratively with a skilled and diverse tendering team. You’ll develop competitive and technically sound estimates for civil engineering projects, primarily within the water sector, including shafts, tunnelling, pipelines, MEICA, rail civils, and groundworks.
Responsibilities:
Interpret client tender requirements and supporting documents (PQQ/ITT)
Review and take off Bills of Quantities
Prepare detailed cost estimates in line with company procedures
Develop risk and opportunity registers, and maintain key assumptions
Collaborate with internal departments including procurement, planning, and bid management
Present estimates at adjudication meetings and handover sessions
Provide support to delivery teams post-contract award
About You:
Essential:
5–10 years of estimating or relevant operational experience in civil engineering
Experience in one or more of the following areas: tunnelling, pipelines, MEICA, rail civils, or groundworks
Strong commercial and construction methodology awareness
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer status or working towards similar professional qualification
