CE&I Control Systems Engineer

We have an exciting new opportunity for a CE&I CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER based at Warrington, Cheshire.

About the Project:

MSSS
Support progression of the 2nd/3rd Extension scope of work within the Sellafield Gated
process and maintain the appropriate level of design support through preliminary design, detail design for manufacture, works test and installation.
Provide continued Process Engineering Support to the Strategy and Technical
programme.
Provide continued Mechanical Engineering Support to the Site Delivery Programme.
Provide RCW Assessment support to Ops Retrievals.

About the Role:

Supporting the control system software detailed design development for SEP3.
Reviewing Front-end/Preliminary design requirements documentation which includes the
following but not limited to:
Project Functional Specification, Control Philosophy, CE&I Basis of Design, MHDs, EFDs, Process description documents, applicable SL standards etc.
Understanding applicable standards (e.g. ES_2479) and defining user requirements for
control systems including verification and validation.
Understanding and defining user requirements for control systems.
Producing control system detailed design documentation e.g. System specific
requirements specifications.
Design specification with respect to integration of associated system interfaces.
Liaising with Internal and External SEP3 Project Stakeholders to ensure system specific
requirements are captured in accordance with project functional requirements:
- SEP3 CE&I Lead Engineer
- Control System Group Representative (OTG)
- PES Centre of Expertise Capability
- SEP3 Multi-Design and Operations Project Team etc.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

HNC or higher qualification in an electrical, electronic or software related subject and/or
suitable experience.
Control Systems, instrumentation, CE&I or software background.
Can provide evidence of an understanding and application of the PES modification lifecycle, including both temporary and permanent software modifications.
Knowledge of PLC programming e.g. Rockwell and Schneider programming products and
I/O server interfacing technology. These includes integration of system interfaces e.g.
drives, CCTV etc.
Implementing control system projects using a structured software development lifecycle.
Industrial control programming processes.
Demonstrable evidence of working in teams.
Graduate (minimum 2:2) or equivalent in relevant discipline with typically more than 2
years’ experience.
OR, where appropriate, part professional qualification with typically 5-10 years relevant
experience.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Where appropriate, ideally accredited to an appropriate professional body, as a Chartered
Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) IET or working towards this
accreditation.
Knowledge of Sellafield Site management arrangements and standards desirable (or
equivalent) with evidence of application and adherence of the Discipline Maintenance
Standards, Human performance 5 core tools and similar QMS processes.
Knowledge and experience of application of ES_1_2479_1 - Issue 1 - Programmable
Electronic System based Instrumentation and Control.
Knowledge and experience of Cyber Security for Operation Technologies.
Experience in application of associated Sellafield Ltd. Standards and Procedures.
